💜💚💙 Dear marathoners! Unfortunately Carlos Cabral will not be able to come to Finland this year due to work reasons. But we have a good news: instead of him Alexey Doroshchenko will play for us at the Midsummer Tango Marathon! That is what he is saying about him as a DJ:
🌿 "I call myself a traditional tango DJ but not a conservative one.
During all these years I have learned both all the traditional DJing rules and how to break them when the moment really asks for that.
🌿 When choosing the music I prefer to use well-known traditional orchestras, while using a wide range of their recordings and tanda-to-tanda dynamics to create a milonga that is full of well-known tango hits but still fresh and exciting.
🌿 I improvise during every milonga and almost every tanda is created on the spot. That way I can be sure that all four songs in each tanda perfectly fit the current moment and desired milonga direction.
🌿 One more obsession I have is about the sound quality at milonga. I try to obtain the best versions of recordings I can find and then at milonga I make sure available files and equipment produce the best sound possible".

💚💙💜 What to expect about nutrition at the marathon:
🌿 FOOD 🌿
Meals during the whole marathon starting from Friday evening are included in the marathon pass. Regular and Vegetarian/Vegan options are available.
• Brunches on Saturday, and Sunday. They will be served in the Ravintola Puhti (at the main hotel building, about 8 min of pleasure walk from the dancefloor), will be as heavy as a good lunch and will consist of cold appetizers, salad, bread, and a few warm brunch/lunch course items that change from day-to-day.
• Dinners on Friday and Saturday (will be served right by the dancefloor) – includes 2 warm main courses, salad, bread, and dessert.
• Night soups with bread on Friday and Saturday - will be also served right by the dancefloor
• On Sunday just before leaving for Helsinki, we will organize a small picnic by the lake combined with Lakeside sauna fun. We’ll bring sausages for everyone, and you please think ahead and bring the drinks you would like to have on a picnic.

Besides that:
* If you come to Vierumäki on Friday so hungry, that you cannot wait until dinner time, there is possibility to have a buffet at Ravintola Puhti - 17.5 eur, 16:00-18:00, not included to the marathon price!
* The Fennada Hotel also has a kiosk with coffee, pastries and sandwiches at the Fennada hotel.
• You will be able to order a pizza for the Sunday Afterparty. To place an order, you will need to fill out a short form, which we will send to you by email a little later.

• Non-stop water, coffee and tea all through the weekend are included.
• Right by the dancefloor the bar with all kinds of alcoholic drinks and special coffee will be opened during evening hours.
• Please note, that, unfortunately, by law, you may not bring your own alcoholic beverages into the Country Club (outside of your hotel room).

🌿🏡 This time, three different hotels in Vierumäki are offering special prices to marathon participants. There are few free rooms in each of them left, so feel free to register and join us!
The cost of accommodation from Friday to Sunday, including late check-out, is as follows.
🛌 “Country Club” and “Humiseva” (not the most fancy rooms, but closest to the dance hall, no air-conditioning):
– Twin/Double room – 100 € (per person)
– Single room – 180 €
– Triple room – 90 € (per person; triple rooms are only for groups of 3 people; no one will automatically be placed in a 3-person room)
🛌 “Sport Hotel Pihkala” (450 m walk distance from the dance venue, rooms with air conditioning):
– Twin/Double room – 130 € (per person)
– Single room – 240 €
🛌 “Hotel Fennada” (400 m walk distance from the dance venue, fancy rooms in the brand-new hotel with air conditioning, our brunches are also in this building):
– Twin/Double room – 147 € (per person)
– Single room – 274 €
When filling out the registration form, you will be asked to specify the type of room and hotel preference for your stay. Once your marathon registration is confirmed and payment is made, your room will be guaranteed. Please note that room reservations cannot be made directly through the venue this year.
🌿 Vierumäki is a fantastic area with numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, sports, golf, massage, and more. You are more than welcome to arrive before the event or extend your stay after it, allowing you to further enjoy your Finnish holiday. The cost of rooms outside our event may vary day-to-day. 💚💙💜 There is no Midsummer same as no Finland without sauna! During the marathon weekend, you will be able to enjoy this famous Finnish tradition 5 times! The two saunas have different concepts:

1 🌿💦 Lakeside sauna (men and women separate) - relax your body in the sauna, cool down after hot tandas in the freshwater of Valkjärvi Lake, and fall in love with Finnish summer nature;

There are 75 lakes with the name Valkjärvi in Finland. This particular one is the 8th smallest of those, but at 3 hectares it is still so big that even the entire Marathon population wouldn’t make much of a wave if we were to jump in at once. The lake is quite deep, and so stays cool even in the summer. The fresh water is a heavenly treat for tired feet after dancing all day long. A Finnish-style jump into the lake after a hot sauna is an invigorating experience. There is also a bar just next door to the lakeside sauna ;)

2 🌿💦 Indoors party mood sauna after night milongas. It is your choice if you want to put on a swimming suit or not and how much and which drinks you will bring with you for more fun 😉

🌭🍻On Sunday just before leaving for Helsinki, we will combine Lakeside sauna fun with a small picnic by the lake. Please bring the drinks you would like to drink and we’ll bring sausages for everyone!

🌿🌿🌿 Less than 2 months left before we all meet in Finland for unique tango expirience, so it is definitely time to buy your tickets! ✈️ On our website midsummertango.com you can find all useful info about transportation, including closest airports, taxi and bus transfer to the venue and back.
💚💙💜 IMPORTANT!!!
✈️🚌 It looks like there will be only one big bus going from Helsinki to the venue, so make sure your plane is landing at Helsinki-Vantaa airport on Thursday or Friday before 12:00 to catch our bus transfer! 🌿 If you already bought your plane ticket and it is coming to Helsinki on Friday later than 12 o'cklock, please let us know asap!
🚌✈️ On Sunday the only one bus on the way to Helsinki will make a stop at the airport around 21:00.
🌿 Soon every participant will get from us an email, where we will ask you to fill out a short form and pay the transfer cost to book a sit.
