Birthday party / unofficial American Car Show after party in Hard Rock House, Roihuvuori, Helsinki, hosted by fUnderGround Lahti & DwS.
My first "prime" set time, from 00:00 to 01:00 and what a pleasure it was to play to a nicely warmed up crowd. Night's theme was to play trance and psytrance and right after learning this when I was booked to play at this event I started to compile the set. From deep progressive trance to techno to psy and goa trance - from me a first of its kind. I had SO MUCH fun compiling and, most of all, playing this set!
Featuring sublime The Bell Song, staggering remix of New York FM, legendary The Rebel with Push's touch, brilliant Moaner (something quite unique spawned from the terrible film Batman & Robin) and tracks by some of my favorite artists (Martin Freeland, Avi Shmailov, Yahel Sherman and John '00' Fleming + Ricky Smith, not to mention BPC) from these genres.
This is a JOURNEY @ 138-148 bpm. Get on board, I hope you like it!

My third DJ gig, in Viking Saga Electronic Dance Voyage, a whole new concept in Finland's electronic music scene. The first event featured eleven Finnish artists in total, including Super8 & Tab, D.N.A and Peetu S. What an honor it was to be a part of this party cruise and to kick it off with my 90-minute set (first of its kind) on the eve of my birthday!
Recorded live on stage 27.1.2024 - no sync, no rekordbox benefits - using brand-new Pioneer A9 mixer and CDJ-3000 players.
Utopia Trance (3.2.2024) was big, this was just as big in terms of how much it meant to me as a performing DJ. My performance started with Moby's staggering Sunday, followed by Faithless with their rather unknown but brilliant Euphoric Mix of Don't Leave, made alongside their massive early career hits. Getting into "it", as a second intro if you will, with beautiful Poem by Lolo (Airwave). Then it's TRANCE, in its various forms, all the way till the end.
I'm very pleased with this one - what do you think? 😊

My fourth and, so far, biggest DJ gig, in Utopia Trance - John Askew which was a part of 2-day Utopia Festival 2024 (headliners include Angerfist, Brennan Heart, Rooler and Keltek) held in Helsinki, Finland.
Recorded live on stage 3.2.2024 - without using sync button and without rekordbox benefits, as always.
This night was A DREAM COME TRUE in every way - dear friends on and off the stage, a legendary venue, Kaapelitehdas, and a legendary headliner, John Askew, playing on the same stage as me. AND a considerable number of trance music lovers on the dancefloor. All of this must have affected me; in places this set, from a technical point of view, isn't one of my best efforts. DJing is forever learning but also forever improving.
I'm confident by saying that the track selection on this set is very good. This time I'm not going to take you through each track - please find out yourself if the set has that "flow" 🤗
I'm hungry and READY for more and it feels like I'm born to do this 💪🏻🥰

Including Zyon with their immortal (original) No Fate with the iconic piano melody, Armin & Ferry with From The Heart (this full lenght version features stunning melodies that are not present in shorter album version), Benno de Goeij with rarely played Solitude, Stuart Langelaan with dub mix of masterful Drifting Away, Mark Pledger with On The Edge (takes me to the most beautiful shores on the face of this planet, everytime) and Svenson Maes with the official Trance Energy anthem 2004.

Three weeks after part I it's time to bring this emotional, personal journey to an end. "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
Despair evolves to hope. Wandering in a wonderland of independence (paradise?), free falling among my own teardrops from time to time, hoping to land on someone's arms, feeling the need, the need to feel loved. And if love ever does return to my life... let it all be sunshine.

The tenth entry in my FINSIDE JOB mix series - part 1/2

After four months since my last entry, I realized I'm in process of compiling my most personal sets so far. Spring and summer have been difficult (which is why I haven't had the energy/motivation to mix) and this two-part mix is a journey through my emotions in the language of music. At first, despair (Dark) and later, hope (Light).
I chose these tracks because of their musical elements but even some of their titles ring true; Raindrops (it sure has been rainy), When Things Go Wrong (they certainly did... about a year ago), Save Me (felt the need of being saved since then, more than once or twice), Feeling This Way ("makes me feel like falling"), Lost In Love (in the end that's where I am - lost).
Let me remind you that I do all my mixes (for the time being) from CDs without Rekordbox benefits and the use of ridiculous sync-button, in other words BY EAR.
