In November 2023, Monoma Suomi and the Mushrooming workspace network called for applications for a trial spring residency to use a free space in the shared office building in Lauttasaari (Heikkiläntie 7). Three people from different backgrounds joined in a collective effort to submit a proposal to use one of the largest spaces in the building for activities that would combine movement, culture, an

d art. We decided to use the word Sinergia to identify the space as we use it during the residency. Singergia means synergy, it refers to interaction or cooperation that gives rise to a whole that is greater than the simple sum of its parts.The term comes from Greek synergos which means working together. This is precisely what we have set out to do in our Lauttasaari Spring residency: We collaborate and wish to extend bridges to communicate the different activities that interest us. Our residency “Sinergia” is formed by three participants: Maria Gat’sal, Pablo Riestra and Nadia Tapia. The project combines movement, dance and acting activities organised by Maria and Nadia while exhibiting the vibrant paintings created by Pablo. Emphasising collaboration, the residency aims to create a collective experience that surpasses the individual efforts and offers a space for encounters, discoveries, and joy.

Save the date ✨️✨️✨️ 10.05.24 from 17 to 22 in Heikkiläntie 7C 00210 4th floor:

FREESTYLE FEVER: Dance Improv, Open Space & Party ! 🪩🪩🪩

During the first part of the workshop let us move together and explore the skill of & other series of dance exercises suitable for all levels.

The second part of the workshop is , is dedicated to work on our own movement vocabulary, culminating in the opportunity to freestyle for others - like a performance! However, it is not mandatory to perform. (Open Space can be a solo, pair or group experience. No previous experience in dance or performing is needed). 💖

The third, and last part of the workshop, is....PARTYING! , dance, dance.

Snacks and beverages will be provided. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks for yourself or to share. Please note: No alcohol is allowed ‼️

Maria's monologue was from "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov. Maria's unique interpretation and acting choices opened up the opportunity to discuss during our opening party about monologues in acting classes and in auditions.

Maria Ga'tsal teaches acting classes in Sinergia - Movement + Art in Spanish and English. In addition, Maria organizes workshops merging the craft of interpretation and dance.

Maria is a Mexican/Spanish actress, dancer and teacher based in Helsinki.

Pablo Riestra is a Chilean-Finnish artist based in Vantaa. His paintings are a mixture of pop art, the simplicity of a haiku poem with a lot of Manierism, all of which explain the bright color zones, the few elements in the composition and the distortion of their forms.

Clases semanales para principiantes de la técnica de actuación Meisner, desarrollada por Sanford Meisner (1905–1997). Nos enfocaremos en la piedra angular de la técnica: El Ejercicio de Repetición.
