JungleUNIT: Kuustone

The man, the myth, the living legend!
Over 3 decades of spinning vinyl combined with stunning taste.

Kuustone has been a paragon for many Vaasa DJ's. During the years he's been playing techno, break beat and of course Drum and Bass.

Originating from Vaasa and presently based in Sydänmaa, wizard of fine cuts is bringing us his set of "Darker more melodic sound. Not necessarily drilling basses but deeper and thicker!"

JungleUNIT: DJ Subsense

From Vaasa to Tampere and to Spain and visiting us again!
(some turns on the road are missing for sure)

Subsense is a music lover with almost two decades of making music in various genres. He got involved in drum & bass in the late 90's, and since then dnb has been inspiring him the most.

His sound has evolved into dark rolling, deep and melodic drum&bass.

His debut was released 2011 by Hustle Audio (UK). An EP with Quadra was released in 2015 and a Single in 2016 on Physmatics Music. His tracks and remixes have been on compilations such as Breakbeat Sound of Finland by Lightless.

During the years Subsense has been hosting club nights with his former crews Void and a monthly Club concept Club Spora at Nightclub Gloria Tampere as resident DJ and a promoter. Subsense is also a member of the legendary Finnish drum & bass collective Kongocrew.

The last few years Subsense has been playing Dj-sets in a variety of sounds from house and techno to grime, garage and dubstep. NOT forgetting drum and bass!

For us at JungleUNIT he's coming with selection he describes as: "Rollers, Neuro, Twostep, Liquid and Classics. But! Breakdowns and chillier waters with Molebreath and Cavehöökä tunes in between to keep stuff interesting." (a bit more laid-back translation :))

JungleUNIT: DJ Sofa

Releases popping up from left and right from labels such as Straight up Breakbeat, MYOR and Future Retro. Helsinki based Sofa is on Fire!

Although presenting the 'Second Wave' of drum and bass in Finland her production shows deep understanding and respect for the foundations of jungle. Packed in her truly unique wrapping of course. One can be nothing but mesmerized when listening through her catalogue.

For us in JungleUNIT she has crafted an "Ässä Mix" with everything between Atmospheric Jungle classics, Amen Workout, Techstep and (yet) unreleased bangers.

After visiting us she'll be debuting at Bristol UK in October!

A household name among the hottest and coolest club venues of Helsinki, he has deejayed as a professional since 1996. He has also founded and produced several club series combining both dj and live acts: Söndag Jazz, DJ Kitchen, Release and Shift to name a few...

DJ A. Myllykoski plays both organic and electronic sets as no stranger to either world. When it’s time to entertain people with more traditional sounds, it’s all about jazz, funk and groovy world music with a Latin, African or Balearic touch. He even produced the legendary Funky Elephant Festival twice in Helsinki, so he has surely paid his dues. And when it’s time for more electronic soundscapes, DJ A. Myllykoski selects various gems from dub techno, drone, trip hop, house, drum & bass and jungle to ambient vibes with a focus on enhancing the current mood.

As an eclectic deejay all of these can be combined and the sets customized according to the needs. The deejaying philosophy of A. Myllykoski is based first of all on the ability of reading and reacting to the audience as well as acknowledging the psychological effects different soundscapes have on people. CARI LEKEBUSCH - Sound Architect, DJ, Producer & Cozmick B-Boy

An extra enigmatic figure in the second generation of Techno producers to emerge from the electronic music explosion of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Cari Lekebusch has sustained over thirty years in music through an unwavering commitment and an unquenchable desire to constantly move things forward. Credited as being one of the figureheads of the globally influential Swedish Techno scene that subsequently spawned internationally recognized names such as Adam Beyer, Alexi Delano, Joel Mull, Jesper Dahlback, Pär Grindvik, Petter B, Robert Leiner, Benjamin Mull, Abi Bah, Mattias Fridell, Nihad Tule and Nima Khak.

Lekebusch's standing as a studio innovator and production authority is well documented. He has borne many pseudonyms over the course of his illustrious career including; Fred (Missile Records), Mr Barth (Svek, Plumphouse), Braincell (Harthouse) and his electro moniker Mystic Letter K to name a few. He has experimented with sounds across a range from Techno to Electro; releasing on well respected labels such as Novamute, Soma, Primevil, Harthouse, Missile, Turbo, Mote-Evolver, 430 West, ISL, Moln Records, Sleaze UK, Svek, Drumcode, Truesoul, CLR and his own label imprint H-PRODUCTIONS (former Hybrid Productions - Sound Architecture).

Aleksi Myllykoski is an artist, composer, producer and reputed deejay hailing from Helsinki, Finland.

Musically Myllykoski collects ideas for his productions from a wide variety of genres. The generated rhythms and sound textures are typically deep and melancholic with a hint of darkness. Usually he achieves this by experimenting with all kinds of imaginable sounds. Productionwise you can hear dub, house, experimental music and techno, just to name some of the influences.

The latest album St. Virus was released digitally and on vinyl in spring 2022. Minimal, melancholic and deeply spirited noir jazz with an electronic twist! This is the extraordinary and original sound of Aleksi Myllykoski. Be sure to check it out!

He has been actively involved for years and lately live on stage with the legendary Finnish electro jazz group RinneRadio and their innovative saxophonist and clarinetist Tapani Rinne.

Tapani Rinne is an artist, band leader and composer, and has developed an experimental and innovative style of his own, using clarinet and saxophone.

He is internationally best known as the leader of the pioneering Finnish music group RinneRadio. Tapani Rinne also forms the award-winning ambient world music duo Wimme & Rinne together with Sami yoik singer Wimme Saari.

On Foghornia album, Rinne dives into the dark, melancholic and minimalistic world of ambient music. All these aspects fit perfectly into the aesthetics of Signature Dark label.

In her almost two decades long DJ-career Miia Magia has been travelling from Britpop and Nu Disco to Deep House and Techno. Djing, organizing parties and earning residencies at the legendary Helsinki clubs such as
Semifnal, DTM and mbar made her a diverse and open minded DJ. Alongside her own club nights she's been invited to play for all the main cities in Finland and also to Tallinn, Valencia, Madrid and Are. On her way she's been privileged to support her Finnish favourites to name a few; Roberto Rodriguez and Milla Lehto.

Living and breathing the Stockholm scene between 2015 to 2019 made her dive even more into her own sound, best to be described as deep and moody to sharp and groovy. While playing at the underground raves and clubs she was rewarded to support her favourite artists such as Axel Boman, Benjamin Mull, Cari Lekebusch and DJ Hell.

Moving back to her roots to Helsinki for the new decade she's been focusing to produce music and run her own club & podcast concept Motto. The latest addition to that is a label project Motto Sono Records run together with Mr. Barth, where her frst ofcial release ”En Route” was released in May 2020.
