The historic Tailevu Hotel is an independent hotel consisting of air-conditioned double rooms, self-contained accommodation, restaurant, lounge bar, nightclub, conference and events space and laundry facilities. It was established by William "Bill" Gatward in 1948 and was popular with the local dairy farmers. After WW2, Tailevu North was earmarked as another place to establish the Fiji dairy indus
try. Because of their expertise, farmers from New Zealand were invited to settle and operate dairy farms. To this day some decedents still operate dairy farms in the area. It is said, the main building was the former mess hall of the RNZAF that was based at the Laucala Bay. Tailevu Hotel consists of air-conditioned double rooms, each with it's own amenities. The hotel also offers mid and long term rental for 2, 3 and 4 bedroom villas. There is a nightclub, lounge bar and restaurant and conference and events space available. Catering for events is offered and there is laundry service available. Korovou is a thriving township. It consists of service stations, supermarkets, restaurants, farmers market and major high shools. There is a district hospital, police station, post office, schools and government branch offices such as iTLTB and LTA. Korovou town is also a major stop-over for express bus services for Viti Levu and Vanua Levu commuters. The Natovi Jetty is located 20 minutes away. The two major boys high schools of Queen Victoria School (QVS) and Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) are also near Natovi jetty. There's plenty to see and do when staying at Tailevu Hotel. You can wander into town and explore the shops and local farmers market. If you are keen for adventure, take an easy 15 minute drive to Dorothy's waterfall, heading north on the Kings highway. Otherwise, book a dolphin watching tour in Takalana Bay, in the Dawasamu area. During the rugby season, you might catch some local 7s tournaments or even the Northland rugby team playing home games at Gatward park. After all that, come back to the hotel, unwind with a drink and a delicious meal out on the lawn and laze the time away. In Tailevu, we say "Tailevu No Leqa!" We welcome you to this beautiful part of Fiji.
