Christmas carol singers
At the heart of the village is the Halle where todays carols are being sung by the choir
Ceiling painted yesterday and wow, how much more light there is and that’s before the walls and woodwork get some attention.
The apartment will retain original features like the old light switches for decoration and the original windows with their beautiful metalwork.
It’s starting to turn the corner!

As the seasons change the jobs change.
We appreciate all the hard work Catherine Weitbrecht has done in tidying up the garden, weeding out the Raspberries so we were able to put in the support wires and start training the plants along them. In planting beans, beetroot, onions and shallots in the poterger giving us a really good start to the growing season.

So by way of a little update. An interesting week really, all about balancing working on the expansion of Entrepleio, coping with storm weather events and keeping the apartment renovation on track😳
Many hours have been dedicated to getting the largest room prepped for decorating, now that might sound strange seeing some of the pictures! No bathroom or kitchen and some stud walling not complete! However it’s down to sequencing😉 the jobs that need doing but are preventing something else from happening.
There is plaster still drying, (wall rebuild (pic 5) so preventing next work in 2 rooms, there was the issue with the floor that had dropped a good 30mm in the front bedroom, this has now be jacked from below and beams re secured, that had to be done before the repair to the skirting board (pic 6) could be started.
All the woodwork in the big bedroom had to be rubbed down, bearing in mind the paint is old probably full of lead and very thickly applied! So all had to be done by hand with a mask on and all clothing removed and cleaned before coming back into the house (like a scene from silent witness)
The job for today was to stip all the paint off the window furnishings to reveal the true beauty. These will be waxed and once the windows have been repainted will really celebrate the house heritage.

2nd If the large apples trees down in the orchard harvested. We are estimating on about 35lts of juice! They have been scatted down this afternoon and will now stand overnight to macerate before pressing and fermenting into cider.
Tomatoes are coming thick and fast from the potager.
Update on apartment renovation. New bathroom frame in for the new ceiling and first fix electrics completed.
Wooden frame for fixing plasterboard is now in place in the old chimney.
