Emjati Eternal Weekend I - Recap
Saturday was an intense day of Magic: The Gathering, featuring three classic formats: Modern, Vintage, and Old School. With fierce competition across all events, the day saw skilled players battling for supremacy in their respective formats.
Modern – 9 Players
The Modern event kicked off the day with nine participants fighting for the top spot. After some hard-fought rounds, the finals came down to Michał Długosz and Thijs Weytens. In the end, it was Thijs Weytens who emerged victorious, claiming the Modern crown.
Vintage – 11 Players
The Vintage event saw 11 players engaging in four rounds of high-powered play, where the most broken spells and artifacts clashed on the battlefield. After the dust settled, Bart De Duytsche took the top spot, proving his mastery of the format’s most powerful cards.
Old School – 6 Players
In the afternoon, the Old School event brought back the nostalgia of Magic’s early days. This format showcased classic spells and strategies from Magic’s earliest sets. At the end of the event, Michiel Geusens claimed victory, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Old School metagame.
Legacy – 59 Players
Sunday’s Legacy event was the largest of the weekend, featuring 61 players battling across six rounds of Swiss. The competition was fierce, culminating in a Top 8 showdown. In the finals, Jose Maria Bermudo Mera faced off against Bart Boudewijn, with Jose emerging victorious. With this win in the BLC finals, Jose also earned a ticket to the European Legacy Masters in August!
cEDH – 15 Players
The cEDH (Competitive EDH) event had 15 players, with four rounds of Swiss leading to a Top 4 finale. The final table featured:
Dries Van Geit, Casper Adriaensen, Alexandre Mabille and Seppe Verschuren. After a high-stakes battle, it was Dries Van Geit who claimed victory in the cEDH event!
With five formats, 102 total players, and unforgettable matches, this weekend was a fantastic celebration of Magic: The Gathering! Congratulations to all the winners and participants for making this an incredible event.
