The right person must be out there somewhere?

We're flexible with the hours, there can be more or less depending on what you need but it's probably 30 hours Monday to Friday through the peak summer season from June to October, and 20 hours Thursday to Monday in the spring and autumn months. Could also be a shorter three or a four day week if that works best for you.

The essential qualities are an eye for detail and the ability to communicate and to manage people. This is hands on at times but more about managing than polishing.

We're a very happy and friendly team who enjoy a great social life together creating a beautiful space which is highly rated by the clients. If you're interested then get in touch, we want someone to start in the next few weeks!

This door holds so many memories for our Rigaud family.

It sparked the idea to count exactly how many brides have stood nervously before it but when I started looking back through the names of past bookings I got lost down a nostalgic rabbit hole, filled with images of dresses, overly excited flower girls, forgotten button holes, buttons that needed moving last minute, tearful fathers of the bride, overheating grooms, lost trousers, you name it, the stories of weddings past came flooding back. I lost the tally when I passed three hundred and fifty Rigaud weddings, which seems like an awful lot! You would think we would be over this confetti lark by now but it seems not.

If you pop over to our Pinterest page you’ll find a board called “2025 Rigaud Wedding Inspo” where our inner over excited flower girl is spotting the trends and pretty things we’ll be working with next year.

I think this door has a fair few more stories to tell ✨

Happy Chefs! This is quite an old photo to be honest. Head Chef John in the middle, remains at the helm but Harry to the right is now in London with

We were very sad to lose him but it ended up being a chef swap. Yotam got Harry but we got who heads up so it’s not all bad.

They might all be looking so happy because this is their stunning vegetable garden where they get to pick much of the fresh produce that they work with every day. Either that or Harry’s just told one of his cheesy jokes! Looks like somethings going on for sure…

Sally & Shae, a truly gorgeous Australian couple who were married with us here in France last autumn.

At Chateau Rigaud we’re very lucky to have a friendly and supportive Mayor who is willing to legally marry our couples here within the commune.

There’s a lot of paperwork to wade through but Isabelle, our amazing controller of all things admin related, is absolutely brilliant at putting this all in place.

We have overseen the legal wedding of over forty couples during the past twenty years. They all make a small donation to the local school which goes down very nicely.

90% of our couples choose to do the legal paperwork before they arrive in France but for those who want to have just one anniversary, we have the perfect solution!

We're looking for a new Head Housekeeper to join our team at Chateau Rigaud. Ideally to start towards the end of this season and get to grips with the house and systems for 2025. The main part of the job is to manage turnarounds, which take place every Monday from March to December and also most Thursdays from June to the end of September. We have Assistant Housekeeper support so can add more hours if required.

Comté & Fig Jam Bite with Truffle Emulsion : This is probably the team’s favourite canapé.

Ok so it’s not the most glamourous, it’s basically just an upscale cheese toastie but it’s the the perfect blend of rich, nutty, aged French cheese with sweet and tangy figs from the trees in the garden and if that wasn’t enough, there’s a blob of earthy truffle goodness on the top.

The best thing is that in order to make them perfectly square like this, they always have a heap of offcuts which explains why the grounds team can often be found hanging around the back door of the chateau kitchen around 5.45pm on a wedding day. Just after they’ve moved all the chairs off the ceremony lawn.

Black and white wedding photography is truly timeless. Somehow the lack of colour shifts the focus to the emotions, the expressions and connections between people. It’s so nostalgic. Classic romance all the way.

The combination of black and white with the shaken not stirred effect on the final image here is magic. Having said this, Maeve and Daithi are very easy subjects for any photographer. Just gorgeous!

Here’s a wedding trend we expect to see more of in 2025. The combination of round and rectangular tables, really mixing it up in the wedding barn.

It adds a sort of visual texture to the layout of the room and it provides the creative opportunity to name the tables which most couples really enjoy.

We’ve had all sorts of themes for table names in the past. Most memorable were famous international DJ’s, types of cheese, stages at Glastonbury, rivers, cocktails, “cheers” in languages from around the world and even cloud formations!

BAR MANAGER AT CHATEAU RIGAUD STARTING 1 MARCH 2025

After five years at Rigaud, our current Bar Manager, Josh, very sadly for us, is moving on at the end of this season. We therefore have an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who wants to develop their wine & spirits education alongside their management skills, in the world’s finest wine region.

This is a live-in position & we have accommodation for a single person or a couple, with various options for a partner to join the team. The season runs from 1 March until mid December leaving two months of the year for travel or other seasonal work while retaining a base at Rigaud. The role involves:

Full responsibility for the various chateau bars (chapel, events barn, canapé terrace) and the bar at our bistro on the river

Leading the wedding bar wine and cocktail service team until lockdown at 3am at least once and sometimes twice per week during the summer months

Developing cocktails and drinks offers to suit the preferences of different wedding parties and events

Sommelier service, introducing wines to small dining groups at spring and autumn Wine Weekends

Closely involved in the selection of wines for Rigaud Wine Weekends and Bistro events

Opportunity to be sponsored through WSET exams

This is a serious job which requires previous bar experience & a genuine passion for hospitality, wines & spirits. You must enjoy night life and working until the early hours. You need a clean manual driving licence. You must be physically fit & able to move heavy kegs and wine cases in the heat of the summer and you must be legally able to work in Europe.

Olive and Sean were married on the most beautiful spring day, 13th May 2023 at the hilltop church in Pujols.

Their guests visited St Emilion the day before the wedding and tasted Bordeaux Crèmant before enjoying dinner on the river .

As you can see from the images, the entire weekend was understated elegance ✨
