It was the idea of two friends Matt an
d Neil who after working in a local Fish restaurant - The Pecheries Ducamp, situated on the harbour in Capbreton, decided to return the next summer to start their own style of restaurant. The idea was developed in Val d’Isere where they both worked during the winter and after many ideas were considered, its style, logo and concept developed. The second year they started to cater for private parties and for some surf contests. Matt decided to return home to Freemantle West Australia (W.A.) - after the second season where he now lives, surfs and is raising his family. The restaurant had gained ground but after the end of the fourth year, due to a fire started by the coffee machine, trading stopped. Although never proven as the cause of the fire, the little coffee machine pushed the restaurant in another direction, and the following year, it relocated to its present premises - 312 Av des Forgerons - still located in the same industrial zone. Now in its 18th year, it still feeds the local workers for lunch but also caters for parties and private functions, weddings and other events for up to 500 persons. Nori Boy's menu is based upon a wide range of foreign foods - Swedish, Thai, English, Mexican, Australian and other styles of food form the base of its Menu. All food is prepared on the premises including its bread, relishes, mayonnaise, curries, cakes and deserts. Vegetarians are well catered for as are carnivores and all fans of fresh honest food. Lunch is served from 12 till 3,30 pm, Monday to Friday and parties or other catering are available seven days per week.
