There’s something about the Jake Paul thing that links to EDM. There’s an article I can’t be bothered to write about how the shift to spectacle over art is all we can expect in future, and yeah - predicted as much in my books.

Watching Jake Paul is like watching an EDM DJ suddenly appear on front covers. You know for a fact they haven’t paid their dues. You know their work is for s**t. You know it was all bought, you know it’s what America does best - elevate fame at all costs over anything else. Absolute supremacism.

And if being “number one” means cheating, lying and buying your way there and it all being a pose - it simply doesn’t matter in modern society.

We live entirely in The Spectacle now.

And Guy Debord called it all in the 1960s.
