We were blown away by your incredible support of the BIG Newquay Market last year and are so excited to be returning to Market from the Spring (stay tuned for news)...

Ahead of that we wanted to ask you, our wonderful visitors, amazing traders and fabulous local businesses for your feedback. Your opinion will help us shape up our plans for the BIG Newquay Market so we can try and make it the very best it can be for everyone.

Your thoughts will also support the follow up on the fantastic funding we received from the Community Levelling Up Programme last year to make the Markets, and other events in Newquay, viable in the long term. 📣 Our OG BIG Truro Market alongside Truro Farmers Market returns from the Spring. We'll be filling the streets of with all the small biz beautiful on our new ongoing date of the second Saturday of the month ❤️ Truro BID Visit Truro

📣 We're also heading back to our beautiful coastal home of Newquay as we collab with Newquay Farmers Market to bring the local love at the BIG Newquay Market on the first Saturday of the month from the Spring ❤️ Love Newquay

📣 Our Summer of Shop Small LOVE festival tour is back and bigger than ever before with a series of weekenders of music, mayhem and shop small joy to look forward to ❤️

📣 And... Christmas. I'm not going to say too much right now as we have 3 seasons of wonderful between us and it BUT all I will say is that it's going to be brimming with seasonal magic ❤️

📣 Ahead of all that I'm so excited to be working with Creative Kernow Associates to be taking a collective of some of the most talented Cornish Designers & Makers to the awesome retail showcase that is Top Drawer London - this time next week it will be day 1 of the show and I can't wait to share more about it with you in the coming week ❤️

📣 Aside from that there's some other exciting plans coming together BTS that I'll share more on soon ❤️

This year felt BIG and sometimes it felt like A LOT. But we did it and I'm really proud of what we've made happen together. Pulling together this 2024 in numbers has blown my mind and made me 🥹 as I'm pretty sure it was all worth it ❤️

⚡ 276 amazing small biz superstars welcomed to the shop small crew at Markets or the Online Directory and over 2.6k of you signed up for news. Thank you to each and every one of you for being utterly epic and making our community what it is ❤️

⚡37 wonderful Market days (41 planned with 2 relocated and 4 cancelled due to wild winds) and 10 gorgeous pop up days making up an incredible 1,088 days of trading for the shop small crew. Thank you to each and every local hero who has come and said hello, shown support and shopped small ❤️

⚡1560 hours on the computer, 492 hours at events, 312 hours in meetings, 208 hours on the bus and 72 hours of training is very roughly what my year has looked like. Thank you family and friends for being so understanding with how lax I've been at life this year ❤️

⚡Countless amazing folk that I got to work with across the year. Ever thankful for all you have done for me and the shop small crew this year ❤️

✨It's happening - we did it you miraculous beings!✨

Join us tomorrow, Sunday the 22nd of December from midday into the evening as we host a Mini Miracle at Project Eighty Three, Wesley Yard, Newquay.

From midday we'll be bringing you an array of the best shop small and eat local traders to get your last minute Christmas shopping, seasonal self care and festive feasting sorted. Think the best locally grown veg and meat, artisan foodie gifts and curated wines all alongside sustainable fashion, beautiful jewellery, hand thrown pottery, handmade gifts and local art & illustration, o and there'll be treats for the minis and furry friends too! The Market closes at 6pm but the festive fun continues...

There's a bar serving up winter warmers and stocked with all your local favs, latino street food to bring the heat and to keep energy high PLUS a full programme of live music full of the best vibes, classic tunes and festive joy...

WE NEED YOU to help us perform a mini miracle! The met office has issued a yellow warning for wind on Sunday and with gusts predicted at over 60mph we have made the difficult decision that we can't go ahead with Sunday's Miracle on Fore Street in its original format. But all is not lost... in fact we have a really lovely plan and we need your support...

Instead we'll be hosting a Mini Miracle at the wonderful this Sunday the 22nd of December from midday to 9pm. Full of the same festive vibes, community spirit, a full live music programme, seasonal tipples and treats along with shop small and eat local magic. The event will also still be supporting our amazing community partner the local group.

Boscawen Street Christmas Market UPDATE... The current forecast of high winds this weekend means that sadly the final Boscawen Street market planned for tomorrow, Saturday 21st December, has been cancelled. However, the The BIG Christmas Market, Truro (wooden cabins on Lemon Quay) will be open tomorrow and Sunday, and the city’s shops, eateries, and two indoor markets will all be open as usual across the weekend. Don't forget Father Christmas will also be at the Royal Cornwall Museum tomorrow and tickets are still available.

The Boscawen Street Christmas Markets are a collaboration between Cornwall Shop Small, Truro Farmers Market and Truro BID.

Kitty has been a true Christmas ⭐ this festive season supporting me and the crew through the joyful mayhem of the Christmas Market Tour. She's sparkled her way through early mornings, rainy days and ever changing challenges. She's brought boundless positivity, limitless spirit and endless tenacity. We literally could not have done it without her. Thank you Kitty 💕

While the shop small crew have a few more festive markets left tomorrow is our last late night Boscawen Street Christmas Market of the year and Kitty's last shop small shift (of the year - really hoping that Kitty will join us for more adventures in '25).

We MADE it ✨✨✨ After a wild weather pause I'm o so ready to be back with the shop small magic for the most wonderful time of the year (🥄 decoration from the amazing .shop who always bring the 🪄)

You'll catch the crew at the Boscawen Street Christmas Market this Wednesday from 9am - 9pm (for festoon lit late night shopping) and EVERY Saturday and Wednesday up to Christmas (yes that's right, each and EVERY one because I have decided that the weather from here on in is going to be festive beautiful).

At the Boscawen Street Christmas Market you can expect an array of locally created and curated seasonal gifts, contemporary craft, art & design, sustainable home & lifestyle wares, vintage finds, artisan food & drink and fresh local produce all alongside delicious street food, community connections and great live music.

TBH today has been a bit of a s**t show for so many small businesses out there (my face didn't get the memo). It's and one of the most important days of the year for our local high streets and indie traders. But Storm D has wreaked havoc. Rightly so many events have been cancelled and people have been advised to stay at home. Wherever you are please be safe and cosy! AND (s**t show aside) I wanted to hop on here with a little reminder that while you're nested up at home you can still support small, shop local and bring loads of JOY!

Boscawen Street Christmas Market update... The forecast of very high winds this Saturday means that sadly this Saturday's, 7th December, street market has been cancelled but will be back on Wednesday the 11th. However, the Truro Christmas Market village (wooden cabins on Lemon Quay) will be open along with the city’s shops and eateries, and two indoor markets will all be open as usual. Don't forget Father Christmas will also be at the Royal Cornwall Museum on Saturday and tickets are still available.

This Saturday is Small Business Saturday, so it will be free to park in all Cornwall Council car parks and to travel on the Truro Park and Ride this Saturday 7th, as well as the 14th and 23rd of December.
