Looking back to 2024 and such a great team at the Stonehenge Summer Solstice

Mandrake Events was proud to support the Weston Super Mare Carnival 2024, providing comprehensive traffic management and stewarding services to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all attendees.

Working closely with North Somerset Council, our dedicated team helped plan and implement strategies to manage crowd flow, direct traffic, and maintain safety measures for thousands of spectators and participants.

A big thank you to everyone involved for making this year’s carnival such a success. We’re honored to play a part in bringing this vibrant community event to life and look forward to future opportunities to serve the Weston community!

Mandrake Events are extremely proud to be supporting this event, there is always time to remember those that are no longer here and the sacrifices they made in incredibly hard times.

This Friday, 4 October, a service of rededication will take place on Southsea Common to mark 100 years since the unveiling of the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.

A Royal Navy Guard of Honour will set off from the D-Day Story Museum at 9.45am and march along the seafront to the Naval War Memorial.

A short service will then take place on Southsea Common followed by a torch lighting ceremony to recognise the legacy of the fallen soldiers. All are welcome to join the service.

Please note there will be road closures and parking restrictions in place from 6am to 12pm on Clarence Esplanade, from Flood Gates to D-Day Story Car Park.

Another successful weekend providing security, stewarding and some infrastructure for Portsmouth’s annual kite festival.

It was extremely busy, the sun was shining and the atmosphere was great. All the team did exceptionally well but a special thanks to the lost children who certainly earned their money.

The team did a fantastic job this weekend welcoming people to the great British food festival at Hardwick Hall

Thousands of people came and enjoyed the shows and delights on offer.

The lasting impression of any event is the arriving and leaving and the car parking and traffic management was spot on.

Well done to the team, the season is well and truly underway.

A massive thank you to everyone that attended the Mayday celebration in Oxford.

May Morning is an annual event in Oxford, held on 01 May – a tradition stretching back over 500 years.

The event attracts crowds of thousands of people – students and Oxford residents alike – who start gathering under the tower, on Magdalen Bridge, and along the High Street from around 5.30am. Students and fellows of Magdalen College gather in the college and on top of the other towers within the college grounds.

At 06.00, the Magdalen College Choir sing a hymn, the Hymnus Eucharisticus, written by the College’s 17th Century choirmaster Benjamin Rogers, from the top of the 144ft Magdalen Tower. The Choir traditionally sings three madrigals, including Now Is the Month of Maying. There is also prayers for the city led by the Dean of Divinity. When the Choir finishes, the bells rings out a celebratory chime for some 20 minutes.

This morning we had 14,500 people along the route at the last count.

Unbelievable feedback on the professionalism of the staff, supervisors and the management of the team.

The events are starting to ramp up again now, this weekend saw a damp Portsmouth Duathlon where we provided Traffic Management and marshalling on the course.

Followed by the install of the Public disability accesss ramp allowing those not able to walk access to the beach and closer to the waters edge to enjoy the atmosphere.

Followed by the team providing services at the Stonehenge Equinox marking the first day of Spring.

Next weekend sees the Palm Parade for Easter Sunday. Everyone

The winter solstice marked the last event of the year for Mandrake Events.

Although a few jobs persist, We all now deserve a well earned break from the events ready to hit the ground running on the 6th Jan for the Hampshire Athlethics Championships.

Id like to thank each and everyone of you that provided their services to make it such a memorable year. Merry Christmas and see you all rested in the New Year.
