Happy new year and congratulations to anyone who became engaged over the festive period.
I know it’s late, but better late than never!
Unfortunately I’ve been feeling poorly and have been in hiding with this awful cold that’s doing the rounds… still feeling bad but hopefully I’m starting to see the light… through the curtains ; )

2024 is looking to be an amazing year. We have so many weddings booked in that are going to be absolutely stunning.

Centrepieces can have a big impact on your day. Not just with the look but your guest experience.

One thing I always recommend is to think about how your Centrepieces will impact your day, you want them to be beautiful and finish your table decor but we don’t want them to get in the way of your guest having a good time.

Either go very tall with your arrangement so it’s not in the way of your guest view or choose something lower like this fresh flower arrangement. Looks beautiful, smells amazing and your guests will be able to see over it so it won’t get in the way and impact their experience of socialising with other guests at their table.

Recently I organised a styled shoot out at the amazing Barra Castle as it’s one of my favourite venues. Such a fab blank canvas!

As always I had the lovely Sophie Alexandria Photography behind the camera and she’s gone and done it again… absolutely blown away by the photos. Hard to choose a favourite but I do love this one!

Future barra brides, what do you think?… I styled a sweetheart table but imagine all those flowers along the front of your top table 🥰 sometimes less isn’t more… sometimes more is just right!

Emma & Mark at The Old Course St Andrews

As a former wedding cake designer before expanding into this career I always recommend making a feature of your cake with your styling.
So much work goes into creating your cake and you spend alot of money so it’s a shame that usually most venues just have a place in a corner where it doesn’t get shown off.
The cake cutting is such a big moment where all your guests love coming up and getting lots of photos so why not make that area look amazing like this one,

A simple way to make an impact is to reuse the ceremony archway around the cake which looks amazing and doesn’t add any extra cost.

Let’s start at new wedding trend & listen to Mr Sawzey ‘ nobody puts cake in the corner’… well unless that corner looks fabulous like this one!

Buttonholes for the Groom & Groomsmen,

Usually when chatting to most Grooms they say they don’t want anything too big and girly… don’t worry we’ve got you covered!

if you want a buttonhole to compliment the bridal bouquet or If it’s something traditional with a thistle we like to keep them nice and dainty, just big enough so they don’t get lost on your lapel but not too big that you feel like you have a flower bush sitting on your shoulder…. And don’t worry we show you how to attach them or we can do it for you on the day.

The Sangsters - Barn at Barra

This lovely couple will forever be one of my favourites. I met Chloe at a wedding exhibition the year before they got married and we instantly clicked and could have chatted all day about pretty wedding things…
We both love the same style and thought the same way so planning their styling was so easy and sooo much fun!

Chloe instantly fell in love with our minimalist styling we had displayed on our stand and knew it was the vibe she wanted for their wedding.
Our n**e linen worked perfectly at barra bringing a warm summer tone to the room, along with our sleek modern gold triangle frames for their backdrop, soft n**e fabrics draped with lots candles gave them a romantic finished.

Feels like I blinked and it’s August already!

What an amazing wedding season it’s been so far… sooo many lovely couples that I’ve helped style their weddings recently which has been keeping me super busy prepping or out setting up at venues. Unfortunately this hasn’t left much time in between to delivery my estimates at a speedy fashion so I’d like to thank those of you who are waiting so patiently for me to catch up.

I’ve had an epic admin day today and I’m wizzing through them nicely as I’m in the zone ☺️

Looking through all my notes for each of you is getting me excited for 24/25 wedding seasons already… gonna be some beauties!

We steam iron all our linen at each venue to avoid seeing any fold creases on your tables.

Bridal bouquets

What do you do with them after the ceremony and photos are done?…. Especially when you want your hands free to hold a glass of fizz & hug all your loved ones!
We recommend maximising their use and using them as part of your top table decor. This looks amazing and matches the rest of your styling in the room, it is cost effective as you don’t have to add much more to the table and as a bonus it will keep them looking fab for longer if you want to keep & preserve them after the wedding as a keepsake.

How stunning is this window what a unique backdrop to have at the top of your aisle.

When we design your wedding styling it’s important to us to try and work with beautiful features in each venue and choose something that will complement rather than obstruct them.

Our broken arch way worked perfectly with this window shape, full and wild with fresh foliage, lots of twigs for texture and some pinecones to add a touch of winter to Sam & Phil’s wedding. Can’t wait to see the professional shots of this set up!

What a blast I had working with these two! These guys were the most easy going fun couple.
They choose to go for a lovely floral look that had an emphasis on gypsophila throughout their decor with floating candles for a romantic atmosphere.

We created our first custom asymmetrical broken archway to blend into the venues outdoor arch, this works perfectly as it was removable so it could be used inside to maximise the use of the beautiful florals both for the ceremony and reception.

We love setting up an outside wedding at Maryculter House. It has stunning views across the river and they have their own outside archway that you can decorate to your style.

For Danielle & Michael’s wedding they wanted the archway to be nice and full with lots of additional foliage added along with our high quality silk florals.

Instead of just adding all the flowers to the outside archway which isn’t used again after the ceremony I suggested using our asymmetrical deconstructed archway which we blended into the venue’s arch for the ceremony then moved it inside as a feature for behind the bride and groom at the top table.

This is a great example of how we can help you maximise the appearance and the reusability of your styling features throughout the day.

If there was an award for most chilled bride Michelle would win it! She was amazing to work with and was happy to follow my lead with their styling.

Relaxed simple decor for a lovely rustic look that’s still really soft and pretty.
We choose table decor that would work around sharing platters for serving their guests on these lovely long tables.
