Now residing in Edinburgh and a radio host for the infamous station. In his words he is trying to join the dots between post punk, krautrock, ebm and the established or nascent bass genres from around the world.

Nuart, and are all collaborating this year for the return of Inspired nights for 3 days/night starting this Friday where our own kicks off the musical proceedings.

SOUNDCLOUD UPLOAD GUEST MIX - MAXI CAYON

We have now uploaded Saturdays guest mix from .cayon to the Soundcloud RhythmCast

This week we go in a complete opposite direction to recent guest mixes with a fantastic hour of nu disco/funk/soul and boogie from the man hailing from General Roca in the Patagonia region of Argentina.

Anyone who kicks off a mix with is all good by us.

Maxi has been playing since he was 13.
He started DJing in small parties for friends and then all kinds of social events.
At the age of 16 came his first opportunity to play in a club in his hometown. From then on Maxi had the opportunity to play music in various clubs, bars and events.
Together with Marcos Fernández in 2008 they formed a duo call Dubmasters characterised by the musical diversity of genres and making use of various media in their live performances (synthesizers, laptops, guitar, CDs, vinyl, etc.) always influenced by Funk, Disco and House. They released two EP under the label Cosmica Music: Secret Service (with remixes by Arturo Bass and Musik Nonstop) and 12 Bar Disco (with remixes by
Phunktastike and llya Santana).
Now at 47 years old and more than 30 years of experience DJing, Maxi tries to create a blend of his main influences like Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Afro, Disco and House in each of his sessions

And then we are excited to see what and have planned for their new beach location for on the 21st & 22nd Sept with headliners plus loads of local talent including our mates .wav

DISC BREAK RADIO - GUEST MIX - DJSportsmode

Tonight from 10pm on , we welcome Scottish export (now residing in Spain) DJsportsmode aka Correlate.

He provides us with an hour of hypnotic grooves that blends deep and tech house that would equally work on a sunny roof terrace or as an early club floor filling set.

A bit more about our guest from the man himself:
I started djing over a decade ago and played my first gigs in an apres bar in Austria, where I was doing ski seasons at the time. I moved back to Scotland to Dundee for uni and eventually became a resident at The Reading Rooms playing with many different parties.
I am also one half of Phazed, a night I hosted along side friend and DJ, in the Reading Rooms bringing in artists from all over the UK.
I also produce, starting shortly after I started djing, with precious releases under the name with releases on , all over it records and gourmand music.
I moved to Spain a few years back and continue to produce under ‘DJsportsmode’ with a recent EP release on fresh take records, check it out on SoundCloud and pick it up on their bandcamp!

A bit about MAXJAX below

I’m MAXJAX, a 14-year-old DJ and Music Producer from England and my deep/tech house music vibes have raised many eyebrows within the music industry from famous DJs and Producers worldwide.
In Lockdown, I decided to produce a beat to play alongside my guitar. I had a play around on GarageBand, and stumbled across making many different genres, including Jazz, Hip-Hop, EDM, and many more, until I found a genre that came completely natural to me… DEEP HOUSE.
Since then, I learnt ableton, which is my go-to DAW and any minute I get, I jump on ableton (or play football).
On my 11th birthday, I got some DJ equipment and ever since, I’ve played at multiple gigs, as well as receiving a residency with UNDRGRND EVENT and SUPERTEENZ
My relationship with Jovonn sparked from me posting a video of me making my track ‘‘Don’t’’ and later that evening, Jovonn got in contact with my parents, wishing to sign my track.

A bit about Seamus Alf Leyla:

Haling from Aberdeen, Scotland, his electronic music education begun with visiting clubs like Snafu & Tunnels in Aberdeen, with Tunnels providing his first gig, leading to appearances across Scotland at clubs such Cab Vol, the Caves and the Liquid Rooms and a residency with Edinburgh promoter . He has previously supported artists such as OR;LA, Courtesy, Route 8, Nathan Micay, Hammer, Project Pablo, Pearson Sound and Helena Hauff. His next club appearance will be as part of a new collective Fight Night in Glasgow , coming soon in February 2024. As a producer, his music has been featured on BBC Introducing in Scotland, earning the tag ‘sound of the summer’, and he has appeared on labels such as Neptune Discs, Bedroom Traxx, and PMIX. His sound incorporates progressive, house , disco and techno with a flair for grainy textures, emotive melodies and sharp beats.

2023 HIGHLIGHTS MIX ON DISC BREAK RADIO

A massive thanks to everyone who made it down to .aberdeen last night. We had a blast. Shout out to the Motif team for having us again.

We've had an absolutely brilliant year of gigs and radio shows on . However, we've failed miserably at one thing. Somehow, we've not managed to get all 5 of us together in the same place at the same time all year. So we thought we'd put that right before 2023 is over.

Join ALL 5 of us at Motif next week for the L👀k Busy Christmas party. We will be rolling out our favourite tracks from 2023 as part of our usual dancefloor-focused house and disco grooves.

Rhys Coyle is a 23 year old up and coming DJ from Bolton who has quickly secured himself a residency with , playing parties in Nottingham and Manchester, supporting top talents in Europe, Stef Davidse and Wooka.

Growing up surrounded by music and brought up by 2 old school hacienda ravers, it was only right that Rhys would end up immersing himself in the music scene.

We are back on tonight with a guest mix from Overtracked at 10pm BST, followed by a resident mix from our own .

A bit about Overtracked:

Overtracked is the artist name of Michael Engel from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. Growing up in the house and techno scene in Zeeland and Rotterdam, he has become an established name in these regions over the years.

Overtracked started producing electronic music at a young age. He has now released 2 studio albums and many singles and EPs. His sound is often characterised by punchy kicks, stabs and synths combined with acid sounds. This can also often be heard in his live sets. He has had releases on labels such as:

and many more.

Besides DJing and producing, Overtracked also has his own event called . He does this together with Benjamin Scott and has existed since 2016 and is usually held in the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands.

In 2021, he founded his own label called . Here, he releases many of his own tracks and those of people from his circle of connections.

Joined by some excellent producers on this release that we are digging right now. He provides a lovely summery vibe transporting you away from the current Scottish weather!!! The track has been Premiered today on the excellent @dreamchimney for whom he provided an excellent guest mix for last year. Andy, along with the other collective members are looking forward to 2024 and amping up the production side of what we do, so look out for future music from us to share to the world.
