DISC BREAK GUEST MIX - LA MANO

This week on we have another guest mix for you lovely lot from at 10pm followed by at 11pm.

La Mano is the alias for UK based Anglo Italian DJ and Producer Carlo Bragagnini.

Mixing up progressive, melodic and deeper shades of house and techno, Carlo has formed a signature sound with Italo and disco influences that give his grooves real energy and flavour.

His productions merge strong Italo Disco and Italo House influences with mid-to-late-90’s progressive house, and today’s deeper house flavours - emotive and ethereal, yet with an unmistakeable groove and unique energy, all guided by a solid understanding of what works on the dancefloor.

SCENE SELECTORS 001 - SCOTT SHAND

We kick off a brand new series over on our RhythmCast channel on SoundCloud where we plan to feature local UK scene selectors who some of our collective have met over 25+ years of clubbing.

People who have a passion for the underground scene in their local areas. They may be on the upwards trajectory holding down coveted residencies or established over many years. Either way, we want to showcase their talents to our global reach

First up is one of our close mates, Scott Shand. Based in Aberdeen, he has been involved in the soulful and deep house scene for over 30 years. Always a safe pair of hands at any events we have had him play at and a long term attendee of the so you know this guy knows a groove when he hears it.

His mix presents an eclectic selection of new and older music which features the likes of .haines

RHYTHMCAST 215 - HARRINGTON

French Dj & producer joins the rhythmcast ranks this week with a tasty mix of italo/deep house/indie dance tunage which also includes a few of his own productions. Swipe to get a vibe and follow the direction links to the mix in our stories.

He has made a name for himself as a fervent defender of house music. Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of Chicago and New York, his sound pays homage to the pioneers of the movement, such as Frankie Knuckles, Kerri Chandler, and Larry Heard.

Ben’s mix is packed full of heat and builds nicely navigating through an array of new releases (including his own) and the right amount of classic cuts.

A bit more about tonight’s guest below:
London-based DJ, producer, label owner and promoter Ben Gomori has a long and varied career in dance music, stretching from illegal raves in fields in his birthplace Cambridge through residencies at some of London’s most legendary clubs to some of the biggest venues and festivals in the world. He plays an inimitable mix of house, disco, Balearic, electro, afro, acid, garage and techno, tirelessly digging for lesser known gems that he unearths for his RecordReplay bargain bin vinyl radio shows and seamlessly fitting them alongside the sounds of today, sprinkled with his own acclaimed edits and productions and
a high-energy mixing style.

Co-founder of the eclectic parties and vinyl edits label, he’s also the founder of the acclaimed Monologues Records, G-Edits, Sterns Edits and Balearic London imprints. A former resident at iconic London clubs like Turnmills, The Key, The Cross, Egg and , he has also played regularly at Berlin’s hallowed since 2019.

His long-awaited debut album ‘Collapsing Time’ drops in November 2024, featuring collabs with the likes of & —with remixes to follow from the likes of & spanning Balearic to peak-time house, progressive and breakbeat.

We have just about recovered from our last party of the year at in Aberdeen on Saturday past. Want to personally thank all our close friends who came to our private event at the start before we officially started and to everyone who stayed until the end and made the last 2 hours really special. Big shout out to the team at Dusk as well slingin loads of class drinks all night long.

We love the small intimate vibe the most where you really feel the energy and feed off the crowds.

P.s We are sh*te at the videos/pics as always having too much fun, so we had to rely on some crowd clips sent to us so thanks for sending them over. Anymore please DM them to us

DISC BREAK RADIO - BEST OF 2024 SHOW

We have had another great year developing the L👀k Busy Collective brand. Gigs and festival appearances showcasing our style of underground House and Disco has seen us play several times in Manchester and our home cities of Edinburgh & Aberdeen. We have managed to get some limited studio time in with a few Edits released which we hope to expand on in 2025 with original productions. Finally our free premiere service for labels and artists has started to garner some traction with some of our favourite labels on our SoundCloud and new YouTube channels.

Last year we enjoyed pulling together a mix of our favourite records from that year that we had to do it again. So tonight on you can hear our best of 2024 2hr mix featuring 25 tunes that have done the business for us. Starting with our slower warm up vibes and building over the mix to those festival and club bits that did the damage

DISC BREAK GUEST MIX - KENNY BLACKSMITH

We bring the final guest mix of the year from us to the airwaves at 10pm with a stellar mix from fellow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 followed by our resident from 11pm.

This London-based Scotsman played a crucial role in London’s esteemed label for the best part of a decade. At the turn of 2024, he unveiled a new solo project, and it was here that Kenny Blacksmith was born. With time to hone his studio craftsmanship whilst digging within his extensive record collection, a new direction has been set.

He’s a dancer and clubber at heart, with an affinity for the rhythmic instrumentals often found on the B-side. Think deep dubs and acid rollers with a dancefloor focus. As a result his sets are filled with energy and depth, composed with long organic blends and at times a subtle elan.

Working closely with friends and family, 2024 will see the release of several analogue excursions. His debut release ‘Monday’s Fish’ appeared on ‘Harmonic Frequency Vol 1’ and garnered support from , , .a.dance , .talk, Emerald and more.
