⭐️TAILORS DINNER DANCE⭐️

On the 1st of December, the Aberdeen Tailor Incorporation celebrated in style with their annual dinner dance.

A delicious meal as always from our resident chef Richie Gavryluk, great tunes from Last Resort Band and lovely company 🥳

The room looked stunning with decorations created by Hazlehead Primary School in partnership with their Parent council who have been working with pupils to develop their creativity through art.
Their inspiration came from the outdoors with the baubles reflecting the individual creativity of each pupil. Designs ranged from The Grinch to a Christmas pudding and the lights gave an added sparkle highlighting the electricity they can feel when learning to be creative ✨

Also, how great do the suit napkins look with the roses in the lapel? 🌹 Prepared by Monika at Trinity Hall! 😀

🔱THE CONVENER COURT KIRKING🔱

The Convener Court consists of the four high office bearers from each Trade of The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen, the Deacon Convener, the Late Deacon Convener, the Master of Trades Hospital and the Patron. The members of the court are elected into office each year.

At a kirking service held at the Kirk of St Nicholas, the court were blessed in the presence of the Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Aberdeen Burgesses, members of the trades and other dignitaries - a tradition stemming back to when the Hall was on Union Street (Trinity Centre) A celebratory lunch was held thereafter at Trinity Hall.

Congratulations to all new and continuing office bearers 🎉

🎶An Evening with Professor Paul Mealor and Robert Lovie 🎶

Last night, the Aberdeen Burgesses and Burgesses of Trade were treated to a wonderful evening with Professor Paul Mealor and Robert Lovie, together, they explored Professor Mealor's fascinating career.

Prof Paul Mealor, a Burgess of Guild, is well known and has had a distinguished career as an academic at the University of Aberdeen where he is a Professor of Composition with visiting professorships in the USA and Scandinavia, as well as being a renowned composer.

Professor Mealor was invited to compose a piece for the Royal Wedding of the Prince and Princess of Wales, wrote the song which was No. 1 for the Military Wives “Wherever You Are” and has remained a firm favourite of the Royal Family when he composed pieces for the Coronation of King Charles III and the Honours of Scotland Ceremony.

Robert Lovie of the Prince’s Foundation was heavily involved in and performed at the Honours of Scotland Ceremony.

On a driech morning last week we had our ladies coffee morning.

Late Deacon Richard Leith of the Fleshers Incorporation gave a very interesting talk on the theme of "Memories" - stirring up a lot of memories for the audience too!

💙OLD TRINITY HALL 💙

We love this artwork by Small Stories by Gabrielle Reith which is currently displayed on an empty shop unit window at Union Square Aberdeen😍

The piece depicts iconic Aberdeen buildings & monuments on "The Granite Mile" including the Music Hall Aberdeen, the Mercat Cross and of course Trinity Hall!

What is now the Trinity Centre was once the second home of Trinity Hall, which was purpose built for The Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen in 1846 by Architect Tudor Johnnie (John Smith). Prince Albert was inspired by the beauty of Trinity Hall and hired Tudor Johnnie to design the new Balmoral Castle & Estate.

Gabrielles book is coming out over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled 👀

✨ABERDEEN BAKER INCORPORATION WEEKEND AWAY & NEW MEMBER OUTING✨

A rowie, a buttery or a roll? Its still up for debate!

A fantastic weekend was had by the Aberdeen Baker Incorporation for their annual break but also to welcome their newest member, Mr David Ross to the group 👏

The weekend was spent at the Fairmont St Andrews with two lovely dinners on the Friday and the Saturday night within the hotel. Saturday daytime members and guests enjoyed a visit to The R&A World Golf Museum, where golf skills were practised and a great lunch was had at the Niblick restaurant. On Sunday morning, some of the members played golf to finish up the weekend 🏌️

A wonderful weekend was had by all and well done to Boxmaster Strathdee for this organisation of it! 👏
