Sharon and her staff at the Four Mile Inn Bucksburn know how to celebrate the Scotland game in style. Lots of televisions inside to watch the football and lovely food smells emanating from the lounge (mental note must try food!!). The amount of vehicles that tooted as we were setting up was amazing . There is a lot of support and love out there for Scotland tonight. C'mon Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Oh, and the column on the right isn't drunk, just wind blown 😁

A long overdue thank you from Aileen and myself for all the messages, both public and private, that we have received from everyone. You are all really evil as you made us both cry with your lovely words of support and kindness 😁

Aileen's rehabilitation is slow as the MS is hampering a quick recovery and to be fair I do not think we will be seeing her back working in the business for quite a while, if ever.

Weds - normal hours 10am - 4pm
Thurs - closed (working on site)
Fri - normal hours 10am - 4pm
Sat - limited hours 10am - noon (working on site)

LONG PERSONAL POST AHEAD

This is a post I have been putting off for nearly a year now, but I think considering recent events now is the time. As some of you know Aileen's health has been deteriorating over the last 18 months or so and in May last year, we finally got a diagnosis of progressive MS (a personal thank you from me to everyone who have inquired after her absence. It has been very heart warming and supportive). Last Friday I got a call from her at home saying she had fallen and couldn’t get up. Turns out she had broken her hip and was whisked into hospital. Sunday she had an operation (pins and screws) and now it’s the long road to recovery for her.

For a long while now I have, for the majority of time, been running The Balloon Studio on my own which for someone who has limited organisational skills and a fear of Facebook messages has been a little difficult. After having two of us running the business for the last 18 years I feel like I have lost my right arm and am feeling a little lost. On this note I wish to publicly thank Lucy from Up in the Air, Balloons by Lucy who has been helping me out on larger set ups and keeping my Facebook messages answered. Also, to my friend Angie who has been helping as well with shop organisation and set ups, Rebecca (RM Eventz) for being a listening post and finally my mum who I would be lost without.

The shop physical opening hours might change a wee bit this week depending on how Aileen’s recover goes (I’ll post any updates to opening hours on Facebook) but balloon bookings/orders in general will remain unaffected this week and moving forward.
