LONG PERSONAL POST AHEAD
This is a post I have been putting off for nearly a year now, but I think considering recent events now is the time. As some of you know Aileen's health has been deteriorating over the last 18 months or so and in May last year, we finally got a diagnosis of progressive MS (a personal thank you from me to everyone who have inquired after her absence. It has been very heart warming and supportive). Last Friday I got a call from her at home saying she had fallen and couldnβt get up. Turns out she had broken her hip and was whisked into hospital. Sunday she had an operation (pins and screws) and now itβs the long road to recovery for her.
For a long while now I have, for the majority of time, been running The Balloon Studio on my own which for someone who has limited organisational skills and a fear of Facebook messages has been a little difficult. After having two of us running the business for the last 18 years I feel like I have lost my right arm and am feeling a little lost. On this note I wish to publicly thank Lucy from Up in the Air, Balloons by Lucy who has been helping me out on larger set ups and keeping my Facebook messages answered. Also, to my friend Angie who has been helping as well with shop organisation and set ups, Rebecca (RM Eventz) for being a listening post and finally my mum who I would be lost without.
The shop physical opening hours might change a wee bit this week depending on how Aileenβs recover goes (Iβll post any updates to opening hours on Facebook) but balloon bookings/orders in general will remain unaffected this week and moving forward.
