Did you know over £80,000 was raised 🔥🤭❤️🎪
The Gym sponsored the tombola and took a table this year and the event did not disappoint.

Welcome to our new followers 👋🏼

We’ve had a flurry of new people join our community, so we thought we’d share a bit about The Gym and what we’re all about.

The Gym is an independent department store filled with small, local businesses. From our amazing café to Katty and Merlin creating beautiful nails at to all things zen with Catherine at .aberdeen!

Glow up with helping out with beauty treatments and with hair. We even have an inhouse wellbeing coach our marketing and events specialists .

Don’t forget that will be back from maternity leave in December too!

The bus gates are l*z zone haven’t seemed to cause too much trouble to our 19 year old hair salon, however our beautiful sunny garden next door at 39 Huntly street does seems quieter then normal 🤔 anyway we are not giving up on Aberdeen, The Gym IS expanding this year and to be honest I like the idea of a more village feel to our small town centre. Less cars on the roads will suit me. Let’s just all push forward with our positive pants on and embrace a change. Getting angry doesn’t solve anything.

We honestly all can’t wait for this!

Especially me 🖤 I’m Pregnant and starved of cake for 2 weeks, When abandoned us for the other end of the glittery granite mile. 🍰☕️🫘 We we’re initially pleased for the well deserved expansion but then reality set in. NO FOOD for two weeks while our new guys renovate the space. Anyway we survived on unnamable chain offerings close by. Not though as personally Im just not a fan, Sorry guys. and are more my bag if I have to opt for a chain.

Getting some interior inspiration .wim in perfect time for the renovation of The Gyms extension at numero 39. Sitting in an orangery not unlike the one in this picture and having dinner while listening to moon dance. Life doesn’t get much better. We honestly can’t wait to share the news of our new COFFEE house and our new first floor wonder woman famous locally for her healing hands. Once we share who’s made the cut to move in with us and replace & we will give some hints on what the new spaces may end up looking like 👀

We were so busy showing the two spaces today already, that I had to pull a bring your daughter to a few meetings day. She was a gem and loved her private sitting in .

It’s sad to see our girls moving on but this building was built to be a platform for new starts and fresh talent. Therefore we wish everyone well and are getting excited with the applications that have landed already. 🫣 I hadn’t really had time to process the news, so I can’t stress enough time is of the essence here. If you or anyone you might know would be interested in JOINING THE GYM. Get in touch asap. We hope to finalise our new two this week. ⏰

Aberdeen’s newest, and in our fine opinion Best independently & locally roasted coffee bean are officially joining The Gym. 🫘☕️👌🏻

Long walk will be producing the beans within our new ground floor (pardon the pun) unit 37 Huntly street. It was formally a bit of a sexy establishment but is much much more sexy now.

Big shout out to for making the unit look the part, we can’t wait to invite you all for a peak at how the whole process is performed.

We honestly can’t explain our excitement, we now have over 10 small and up and coming businesses all together in one place in the heart of the city. Yes parking is expensive in town but remember it’s the heart of YOUR city and you must look after your hearts. 💕

We are going on the market next week hopefully 🤞🏻

We will be sad to see this one go but it’s onwards and upwards, no point crying over spilt milk, it has been a house full of happy memories. I just have to keep reminding myself that the memories come with us, even if the beautiful hard wood parquet & wood burning stoves have to stay.

Did you know we are opening a reception & retail space at number 37 Huntly street. Where you can come in and Gym stuff, & maybe do a little shopping (we will be stocking only lovely things) is our first official line.

The only problem is the plasterer ran behind schedule so the unit isn’t quite ready, worst comes to worst I’ll manage the first box all by myself 👌🏻

Amy Christie, founder of the award-winning local hair salon, Profile Hair, has over 18 years’ experience in the hair and beauty industry. Along with her team, she has been developing the idea behind The Gym for some time and she is definitely the right girl to make The Gym a reality!

The Gym is a place where Amy’s passion for hair fashion and beauty really comes to life. The Gym Aberdeen is described as a place where all your inner and outer beauty needs will be met, all delivered with a level of customer service that is second to none.

The Gym is a make-up bar and hair salon, with a twist, offering beauty services every weekend alongside fitness classes Monday to Thursday. The Gym will also be hosting social events and regular workshops - likening itself to something of a modern-day woman’s institute.

Inspired by the days when women used to visit salons weekly to ensure they were always camera ready, and the modern age use of social media, The Gym is a space to make friends whilst enjoy the secluded garden with a drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) before or while you get pampered.
