We will also be offering a weekend away at the wonderful “Floops Lair” for anyone who tops any of these creations in the comments below.

A client came to us looking to cater for an event they were having, some of the delegates were travelling from the USA. We wanted to show them some local and national favourites. These included: Salmon, Beetroot and Dill Mayo Salads; Roast Beef, Mustard Mayo & Salad Bagels; Banoffee Tarts; Raspberry Jam and Cream Scones…we hope they enjoy 😋😋

In a bid to harness the natural power of the nuclear reactor in the sky and become (partially) energy self-sufficient, we have made the addition of Photovoltaic cells to our building. This will negate a proportion of the recent utility price increases we have incurred.

So apparently inflation in the UK is around 10%....Here are a selection of raw products which we buy, prices in January and prices now:

1 Pint Milk: 47p (Jan), 71p (Now). Increase: 51%.
1 KG Ham: £5.95 (Jan), £8.00 (Now). Increase: 34%.
3 KG Tuna: £11.99 (Jan), £17.45 (Now). Increase: 46%.
1 Croissant: 35p (Jan), 43p (Now). Increase: 22%.
Tinned Sweetcorn: £3.56 (Jan), £5 (Now). Increase: 40%.
1 KG Cheddar Cheese: £4.99 (Jan), £6.09 (Now). Increase: 22%.
2 KG Flora Margarine: £5.09 (Jan), £7.49 (Now). Increase: 47%.

In June our current Utilities contract ends and will probably more than double what we pay now. Increase: 100%???

The truth is, for real people and real businesses, inflation is much higher and currently spiralling out of control.

The cost based pressure on small businesses like ourselves is going to be unsustainable if this continues. If we increase our prices to cover these costs, our products become unaffordable to many.

Apologies for the rant but we don't think this issue is being taken as seriously as it should. We are not here looking for a solution but awareness needs to be raised or many small businesses will close for good.
