Mum also needed a stunning dress so we used the same fabric as the bridesmaids and then a beautiful printed silk organza to sit on top and give a very elegant feel to the dress.

Jemima also needed a veil and wanted to add a little bit of sparkle so we used a soft tulle scattered with small crystal

I also had the pleasure of making the three bridesmaids dresses for Jemima & Derek’s wedding in June.

They had a silver satin underneath with a beautiful willow green chiffon overlay and a crystal belt decoration at the waistline. The style was soft, floaty and elegant.

You look amazing ladies and it was lovely getting to know you.

Eight weeks to go until I take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2024 for MND Association

This is my just giving page. I would be grateful for any donations.

My brother has been diagnosed with this awful condition. There is no cure and funds are needed to help support the 5,000 adults in the uk that are suffering from this disease at any one time and their families and to help with research to hopefully one day find a cure.

This is the disease that the rugby player Rob Burrows sadly died from recently. His family and friends including the incredible 7 in 7 challenges by Kevin Sinfield have raised awareness of this disease. I can’t match their amazing feats but I can run and this is the biggest challenge I have ever attempted. Your support would mean everything to me and help to get me to the finish line.

When Karenza showed me the ideas she had for her wedding dress I knew it would be a challenge and although it looked good on my dressmakers stand I had no idea how amazing it would look on the day.

When Laura got in touch about using her wedding dress to make a christening gown for her daughter how could I refuse.

I took the dress apart and unpicked the lace. I used the original satin bodice for the main christening dress bodice, the corset tie for the waistband and sleeve hem. Then the lining and tulle fabric made the layers of skirt. The lace motives were then sewn onto the bodice & skirt.

The only fabric I added was some satin for the sleeves and main skirt (to make it less see through). This was also sustainable as I was able to use off cuts from a dress I had been making.

I think it turned out ok and her face lit up when she tried it on. Doesn’t she look adorable.

It is so lovely when you get to work for different members of the same family over the years. It is like seeing old friends again after time apart.

That’s what happened with these three lovely sisters. I first helped Kat who decided to wear her mum’s wedding dress. It needed a bit of modernising making the high neck into a v-neck and then we found some lace that complimented the brocade fabric to make sleeves and finally shortened the hem.

Later the same year Mary was getting married but when she picked up her wedding dress from the boutique she was very disappointed as it didn’t fit at all and the sleeve and petticoat additions had not been done well. So I managed to resize the dress, replace the sleeves and sort out the petticoat.

Then last year Liz came to see me. She was getting married in Norway where she lived and had just picked up her evening jumpsuit with lace top. The jumpsuit needed a few alterations to make it a perfect fit but she was flying home the next day so time was of the essence.

Then Mum Hilary needed her dress for Liz’s wedding altered so that she felt comfortable and gorgeous for her daughter’s wedding.

Thank you all for putting your trust in me with your dresses. It has been so nice getting to know you over the years and see your family grow.

I had the pleasure in making this lace and satin dress for for her Italian wedding in May. She looks absolute stunning.

I also made the veil which she loved so much she wore it to the pool party the next day.

Things have been crazy busy here at SGC HQ over the last few months.
This is just one of the creations I have been working on. A very unique design for a wedding dress but that is what having a bespoke gown made exclusively for you is all about. This was quite a challenge and tested all my skills as a dress maker.

Had a fabulous day at the Diva exhibition. It was well worth the visit. Some amazing outfits. Lots of interesting information on the creation of the meaning of Diva and it’s origins along with the constant struggle for equality, independence, being able to control their own lives and careers and the strains on their personal lives to name just a few of the subjects covered.

We ended the day at a lovely Italian restaurant where I had the biggest calzone I have ever seen. It tasted amazing.

Had a great evening at the
I wasn’t the overall winner of the bridal wear category but am incredibly proud to be a finalist alongside all the other bridal boutiques.
Thank you to Alison, John, Nikita and the team for a brilliant evening and for the birthday card. So thoughtful.

The venue looked stunning. The food was delicious by and we were entertained by the amazing tricks by and I had this amazing silhouette made in just minutes by (such a talent).

Finally and most importantly thank you so much to all my amazing clients who left me such amazing reviews that allowed me to be considered a finalist. I am so grateful for your support 🙏🏻

This was at the same photo shoot but with a different lace top (straight neck, off the shoulder) to give a different style.

I have a few different styled tops and skirts that you can try on to mix and match and create your perfect silhouette for me to then make in your chosen fabric.

Two lovely reviews from a bride and her mum. I transformed the mum’s silk wedding dress from the 1990’s to modernise it for her daughter to wear for her wedding. This was such a lovely job to do.
