Well, it’s not football but at least something is coming home from Europe! Illusion Fireworks are proud to announce we have won🥈Silver🥈 at the San Fermin International Contest for Fireworks Display Designers!

“The second prize for the author's fireworks, the San Fermín de Plata, worth 3,000 euros, goes to the author Karl Mitchell-Shead, from the United Kingdom, for his collection Con Ad astra (Up to the stars), fired by the pyrotechnic company Illusion Fireworks Ltd. (United Kingdom), on the 13th. The jury recognized his suggestive, original and resounding start, in a collection that presents a very refined and clean design, and that closes in a forceful and unusual way. The collection also shines for its elegance as a whole and the profusion of colors, highlighting the numerous changes of color within the same piece.

This is the designer's first participation in the international competition, in the year in which his company celebrates its first ten years of life. The material he used in San Fermín did not come from the United Kingdom, for budget reasons, but was made by Carlos Granados Martí, from Pirotecnia Martí, from the Castellón town of Burrriana.”

Full video of our show in Pamplona on Saturday, filmed by one of the team from the VIP balcony.

Sadly we had some problems with fire (you can see on the video) and some modules had to be isolated it also displaced some units and melted igniter wires causing crossed lines but overall we were pleased and have learned a lot about setting up fireworks in Spain!

Last night the team participated in our first ever international fireworks contest in Pamplona, Spain!

It was an incredible experience however the show was not without some problems, we had some fires from very early on which affected some firing lines and so some parts of the show had to be isolated.

Despite this the show was still a success, the product from our friends at Pirotecnia Marti that was custom manufactured for the show was unbelievable and the public seemed to agree going by the incredible cheers and applause! An experience we will never forget!

A steep learning curve but next time we will be stronger!

We await the results of the competition and wish all of the other 8 competitors good luck for their amazing shows too :)

We are thrilled to announce that our display designer, Karl Mitchell-Shead, has been selected to represent Illusion Fireworks and the United Kingdom at Spain's most prestigious international fireworks competition - the XXIII Concurso Internacional de Fuegos Artificiales de Autor de San Fermín (23rd International Contest for Firework Display Designers)!

This incredible event features nine stunning competition displays, each fired nightly from the majestic Citadel in Pamplona. Competitors must adhere to mandatory design briefs at the beginning of their show, but then have the freedom to showcase their unique style for the rest of the display and finale.

After achieving success in UK competitions over recent years, this is an amazing opportunity for Karl and the team to team up with Pirotecnia Marti (Spain) and participate in their first-ever competition abroad with a show titled 'Ad Astra' - 'To The Stars'!

The timing couldn't be more perfect as Illusion Fireworks celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024!
