Weddings at the Haworth Come and enjoy the wedding you want in Lancashire's only public Arts and Crafts house.

Our team is on hand to help you design the day you dream of in our Billiard Room designed to look like a grand hall. Set in 9 acres of parkland featuring a Rose Garden, woodland and meadows, Haworth Art Gallery is the perfect setting for bespoke and intimate weddings. Our Arts and Crafts building is handmade and features natural materials which reflect its surroundings. The Billiard room where wed

dings are held features hand carved oak dais or stage with arcades, balustrades and columns. Into the woodwork are carved animals, birds and foliage and original artwork is displayed in the room. All of this combines into the perfect setting for your wedding and reception. A variety of food packages are provided by the Gallery Kitchen who are based on site in the Dining Room. In the evening the Dining Room transforms into a space where you can dance the night away.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum: Wedding Day, After the Ceremony

After the ceremony, a member of the team will direct you and your guests to the bar (if you have chosen the option of having a celebratory drink!).
Your ceremony room will then be quickly turned into the wedding breakfast room, by the talented staff of the Gallery Kitchen.

In the meantime, you can enjoy our outside areas, take pictures, have a drink and relax with your guests.
Once the room is ready the guests will be seated and the couple will join them last, announced by a member of staff. From now on you will be in the expert hands of the Gallery Kitchen and their staff.

When the main gallery and exhibition spaces close at 4:30pm, the couple and guests will still have access to the wedding breakfast room, downstairs toilets, bar area and tea room. If you opted to have your whole day with us, the tearoom transforms to a party room where the DJ sets up for the evening celebrations and where you will enjoy a delicious supper!

The Gallery Kitchen is in the heart of Haworth Art Gallery, within the original Kitchen and Dining Room.

Whether you are looking for a celebratory drink post-ceremony, a fabulous wedding breakfast or a delicious supper, the talented and creative Gallery Kitchen team will make your day even more special with a selection of delicious meals and drinks!

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum: Wedding Day, the Ceremony

Your wedding day has arrived!
If you wish to have one partner arriving first (usually the one not walking down the aisle) your day will look something like this:
Partner 1 and wedding guests usually arrives 40 minutes before the start of the ceremony. This time allows Partner 1 to speak with the registrars and then go to the ceremony room, along with the guests, and wait for the arrival of Partner 2.

Partner 2 will arrive approximately 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony. This allows time for them to see the registrars and wait to walk down the aisle.

When everything is ready for the big entrance a member of our staff will position everyone that is walking down the aisle in order, check that the registrars are ready to start the ceremony and then start the entrance music. Our staff member sits at the back of the ceremony room and coordinates the music. Music is played during the signing of the register, and when the couple exit at the end of the ceremony.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum: Wedding Checklist Meeting

A few months before the wedding we send an email to arrange the checklist meeting. In the meeting we take care to go through all the details of your special day, from the number of guests, details of your wedding party and music selection.

The checklist paperwork is included in the wedding pack so you have it from the very first time you come to the museum. We always advise couples to start looking at it early in their wedding journey and come to the appointment with the paperwork completed.

The appointment is scheduled to be 6-8 weeks before the wedding day, so there is plenty of time to confirm details and have everything ready for the big day!
The Gallery Kitchen will organise separate appointments with you to go over food choices and details regarding cake, DJ and evening supper.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum: booking with us 💍

Once we receive confirmation from couples that the registrars can do their preferred date and time we can proceed with the booking process.
Booking can be done in person, at the museum reception, by bringing a filled and signed copy of the booking form (available in every wedding pack we give to couples) and by paying a £75.00 not-refundable deposit.

Struggling to come in person at the museum? Not a problem. You can email a member of staff the completed booking form and payment can be taken over the phone.

Couples will then receive a summary email from us and a scanned copy of their booking form. The email will also outline the next steps of the process.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum: Enquiry Appointment

During the chat a member of our team will show all the unique features of our ceremony room, go through our wedding pack and explain the terms and conditions as well as tell you all about having a wedding in a museum.

They will give you an idea of timings for the ceremony and reply to questions.
Couples also have the chance to speak with the Gallery Kitchen team, who take care of the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.

If couples already have a date in mind, we pencil it in our diaries for up to two weeks with no need to pay a deposit at this stage. We ask couples to check availability of the registrars and once they have this it’s time to officially book with us. It’s only now that we ask for a £75 non-refundable deposit.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum

When a message or email comes through asking for more information about a wedding, our team promptly replies with the latest copy of our wedding pack. This includes information about all our different options, details and, all you need to know about hosting a wedding with us.
Sometimes couples already have a specific date in mind so we check whether there is availability for their first choice and if not, suggest alternative dates.

We always encourage couples to come and speak to us in person so we can show them our unique venue and go through questions and details before proceeding to pencil in a date.

We don’t have a dedicated wedding coordinator, the whole team assists and help with your special day! From welcoming your guests, to assisting with the wedding music and announcing you in the wedding breakfast, we guide you through your day.

Weddings at Haworth Art Gallery and Museum 🤍

We work with the wonderful Atmosphere Venue Dressing - Lancashire to ensure that our Billiard Room looks at its very best for your special day. Chair covers and sashes are included in most of our packages and if you want something a bit extra then that is also possible! In the photo here you can see the Chiavari chairs and carpet for a Christmas wedding.
It is always an exciting experience to see the room transformed!

The museum will be open for visitors as usual, 12noon until 4:30, with last entrance and purchase in the shop at 4pm.
