Please read some basic information about how we work:
*Our services:
All cakes are designed and made to order based on discussions and emails with you. Everything can be personalised from colour and size, to flowers and decorations. If you cannot find something to suit your occasion a design can be created especially for you.
*Cake sizes:
All cake sizes quoted are in inches and are based on the diameter of the cake. Cakes are approx. 4½-5” deep as standard. If you require a deeper cake this needs to be requested at the time of booking.
*Consultations:
Consultations are by appointment only, please email us to arrange this ([email protected]).
Wedding consultations attract a non-refundable fee of £25 which is deducted from your final invoice, should you choose to place your order with us. Please supply samples of fabrics, design requirements and any other information relevant to your event at the time of consultation.
*Dietary requirements:
For your peace of mind, our facilities have been fully inspected by the local environmental health authority (giving us a rating of 5) and we are fully insured.
Any dietary requirements or allergies must be advised at the time of booking. Eggs, nuts, gluten and alcohol are frequently used in our kitchen, however not all cakes contain them.
*Non-edible items:
Please be aware some sugar flowers contain wires and some models contain internal supports. Other non-edible decorations such as ribbons, feathers, brooches and internal cake supports will all need to be removed before serving. You or your caterer will be advised of all non-edible items on or in the cake(s).
*Collection:
Collection is from Addlestone KT15.
Cakes that are collected are all carefully boxed for transportation and full instructions on the care and handling of your cake will be provided. Tiered cakes can be very heavy and are most at risk during transportation.
Please note that once a cake has been collected the full responsibility for its safety is with yourself, or the person collecting it on your behalf. The Alicia Cortes Wedding Cakes company will not be held responsible for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises.
*Delivery & set up:
If you would like your cake delivered locally and set up this can be arranged subject to delivery charges which are based on mileage and time bases.
In the event of severe weather conditions, or other unexpected events beyond our control it may not be possible to access your venue. Please be assured that we will do our very best to deliver as pre-arranged. To give you peace of mind it is recommended that you have Wedding insurance.
*Alterations:
Design and flavour alterations may be possible up to, but no later than one month before collection/delivery.
Cupcakes: You may alter the amount required up to 7 days before your collection day.
Please be aware that alterations may incur further charges and your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your order, please just call. Orders should be placed a minimum of one month prior to you event. Although it may be possible to complete your order sooner during quieter times, payments in full may be requested at the time of booking.
*Booking and payments:
Because ALL cakes are made to order and require some planning we would prefer as much notice as possible, although late bookings may be accommodated.
Note: You order is only confirmed once a non-refundable booking fee has been received and cleared. Preferred payment is by bank transfer or cash.
Final payment for your wedding cake is required 28 days prior to delivery/collection. A reminder can be sent, if requested at the consultation.
If full payment is not received and cleared in our account before collection/delivery the cakes(s) will not be released.
Cheques cannot be used as payment at any point.
*Cancellation:
Cancellation MUST be made by email to [email protected] and will only take effect from the date your letter or email has been received.
If you have to cancel your order for any reason, we reserve the right to retain your non-refundable booking fee. This is to cover any special equipment/items already purchased, or for any work that has already been started, which is often the case with wedding cakes and large orders.
If you postpone your event, we will do our very best to transfer your order providing the date is available, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation. We retain the right to cancel the booking in VERY unusual circumstances that are beyond our control: such as fire or ill health, in which case a full refund of any monies received will be made.
*Privacy policy:
We care about your privacy and we take it very seriously, our policy covers all personal identifiable information we gather from you when an order is placed.
The information we often collect includes name, address, email address, phone number, event date which is usually a birthday and delivery address.
We do not sell or share this information with any third party and only those involved with the order process will have access to this information.
The information provided when you place an order is not kept any longer than is necessary and is destroyed in a responsible manner.
