Christmas is coming to Broom 30th November!!

It is with the greatest of pleasure that we announce that our Christmas Tree will be lit on Saturday 30th November, so make sure you have your hats and scarves ready for an evening of carol singing around the tree.

6.45pm Part of the High Street will be closed to traffic.
Carols before lights on!

7.00pm The lights will be switched on.

Make our way down to the Village Hall for for refreshments and a special visitor.

Please join us at the Village Hall for mulled wine and mince pies, or hot chocolate with extra’s! We are also delighted that we will have a visit from Santa.

In the summer of 2014, the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings -- octogenarian Bernie Jordan staged a "great escape" from his care home to join fellow war veterans on a beach in Normandy commemorating their fallen comrades. Bernie's adventure, spanning a mere 48 hours, also marked the culmination of his 60-year marriage to Irene. This story celebrates their love without sentimentality and with an eye to the lessons we can all learn from the Greatest Generation.

This is a last ditch attempt to call on anyone willing to volunteer as Treasurer for the village hall. If no-one is forthcoming, the hall will have to employ a book-keeper which will be an additional cost.

We are looking for a new Treasurer to join the
committee in order to keep the Village Hall up and running.

The Committee usually meets around six times a year.

If you feel you are able to take on this role

would just like to be involved in the running of the Village Hall

or

can just help out in any way on an adhoc basis

Calling All Knitters and Crocheters
We want to put a Poppy Installation at the Village Hall this year to commemorate Remembrance Day. If you would like to add to this endeavour we would love to receive any poppies you knit or crochet. The poppies ideally will be in acrylic yarn and approximately 10cm or more in diameter. If you would like further information please email the hall. Poppies can be dropped in at the village hall (box in the entrance) or at Baymount, High Street (box in the porch). Knitting patterns available in the boxes if required. Thank You

BROOM VILLAGE HALL AGM - Friday 19th April

Cheese and wine (free!) will be served from 7.30pm

followed by the AGM of the Village Hall management committee at 8pm.

The hall is run by villagers, for the benefit of the village and its surrounding area. We need the ideas and enthusiasm of residents so we can continue to make the most of this wonderful facility.
