This is Caleb and he has been awarded a Daily Record ‘Pride of Scotland Award’ after helping his parents launch Caleb’s Trio of Hope, a charity helping children and families make precious memories together.

Caleb is a triplet – he and his sisters Poppy and Alyssia were born prematurely at just 27 weeks. In 2019, he was diagnosed with a rare tumour, and although his condition remains stable, Caleb attends our Robin House hospice, near Balloch.

Now aged eight, Caleb's work helping his parents with Caleb’s Trio of Hope has been recognised at the prestigious Pride of Scotland awards, celebrating Scots who are transforming the lives of people around them.

Mum Karen said: “We have a fund to help families create memories with their child and also provide support when they have passed away. We’re always going to be there down the line.”

“We can’t believe how far Caleb’s come. I’m not going to say it’s not hard because some days you’re so tired you’re in tears. But he is remarkable in everything he does and achieves.”

Well done, Caleb. You are amazing! 🎉

“We were invited to the Rocking Horse Ball where I heard first-hand from parents who had been through devastating times in their lives. More recently, I heard a parent talk at a Holyrood reception about finding joy through CHAS. It was so touching.”

After hearing families supported by CHAS share their experiences, Fraser was moved to volunteer with us. As the Head of Client Services and a Director at Clean Digital in Leith, his skills perfectly suited one of our volunteering roles. Fraser is now the Digital Champion at our profit-with-purpose exclusive use venue Ardoch Loch Lomond, supporting online sales and strategy.

“Through my wife’s previous role as a Fundraising Manager, I’d been to event cheer points and bucket shakes in supermarkets. I would have been keen to do that, but very fortunately I found that CHAS had the exact need for what I do 9-5. Perfect timing – it was meant to be.”

“Volunteering remotely works fantastically for me but it’s been really beneficial to get to Ardoch a few times for strategy catch ups. It’s all been really flexible and I’ve been able to navigate my volunteering around managing a full team here at Clean Digital.”

This week marks the end of an era at Ardoch as we say goodbye to our General Manager Peter!

Peter has been at Ardoch for 17 years, from the very beginning of the project! When Ardoch was gifted to CHAS in 2020 Peter stayed on to ensure a smooth transition and handover. Over the last 3 years, he has been an integral part in building the business to the best possible position to continue the legacy, ethos, and brand that had been created. Due to his dedication, we know we have everything in place for this beautiful venue to flourish.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but the memories will last forever for all those Peter has worked with over the years including staff, suppliers, and clients he looked after at the venue.

From all the team at Ardoch we wish Peter all the best with his future adventures, and he will be sorely missed by all of us. Enjoy your well-earned break!

Duties will include:

🔸Bar Tending
🔸Event set-up and breakdown

We are situated in Gartocharn, so it is essential that you have your own transport.
You must be over 18 years old
Shifts will vary depending on our events, so you must be flexible to work shift patterns

After being in place for 16 years unfortunately during winter our owl box was blown down! Luckily Derek from Bum Bee Tartan has come to the rescue and built us a brand new one. It’s stunning! We’re looking forward to the National Park coming to fit it in time for spring breeding season. Thank You Derek!! 🦉
