Committee of local residents set up to organise events to bring together the local community of Alresford, Essex.

Father Christmas is visiting Alresford Village Hall on Sunday, 1st December, between 2pm-4pm.

This is a completely free event (donations welcomed) but must be booked.
There will also be some craft tables for children and a pocket-money stall.

The Alresford Fete Organising Group and excited to share this event with you, not only will we be holding our annual Christmas tea for the over 75's in our community, and a free Christmas event for children, but this year sees the return of 'Decorate for Christmas!'

To enter this free event and possibly win a prize just decorate a tree, hedge, window, garden or your whole house - whatever you like - all you need to do is email your name and address to [email protected] or call our Chair, Courtney on 07535707002.
Businesses can also enter this competition.

We offer thanks to our five judges and judging will take place for the week in the evenings of 7th to 14th December (which fits in with Brightlingseas Rotary Club Father Christmas visiting the village) - So lets welcome him as he tours on his sleigh with lots of artistic displays!

The countdown is on for the Summer Picnic in the Park event on the 8th June!

12:30 - 6pm: we are so lucky to have so much to see, and fun games to play, from some of our wonderful local village groups and organisations. These include demonstrations from the Tai Chi group and Rebecca’s Dance Academy. The Alresford Bikers will also be bringing a collection of their motorbikes.
The Fire Engine will also be there from Wivenhoe Fire Station (callouts permitting).

The Alresford Primary School PTA will be hosting the BBQ again and Alresford Colne Rangers FC will be serving behind the bar at the pavillion. Tea, coffee and locally donated cakes will also be available in the Village Hall.

On top of all that, live music from Silence The Sirens will keep you entertained all afternoon!

So come along and join us for a fun-filled village day - don't forget your picnics, blankets and chairs (sorry, no glass or dogs).

Alresford Colne Rangers FC will take the reins from 6pm with more music from Punch it chewie until late!

Just over a week to go until our 'Picnic in the Park' Summer event! We are so excited to welcome you all to the playing field for an afternoon of fun, stalls, music from "Silence the Sirens", dancing and hopefully sunshine!

Don't forget - our great friends at Alresford Colne Rangers FC will be taking over from 6pm to keep the party going with live music from "Punch it Chewie".

Thanks to our friends Stoneridge Estate Agents Brightlingsea for the brilliant advertising boards which have started to go up across the village.

Thank you to everyone who offered to have a board up for us, we're so excited for the Picnic in the Park this year - one month to go!

Don't forget - our friends Alresford Colne Rangers FC are hosting an after party from 6pm with live music so you can continue to have fun after the picnic has finished!

Now - let's hope for some sunshine on the day 🤞🏻🤞🏻

As always, volunteers are very welcome if you can spare some time on the day or for any future events.

Our Summer event - the picnic in the park, is fast approaching and we need help with advertising!

We are currently reaching out to local estate agents to help us with advertisement boards. If you're willing to have one outside your house to help us to advertise please message us your address!

Apologies for the delay in posting this...we are so excited to publicly share the outcome of Alresford's first "Best Dressed House" competition to help share some Christmas joy across our lovely village.

We were taken back by the entries and are very thankful to the judges, Cllrs Gary Scott and Ann Wiggins who took the time to judge all those who took part.

There were three runners up who were each awarded with a tub of sweets. They were the Munson family of Crestlands; Hannah, Olivia and Elliot from Empire Walk; and the Eddington family of Opal Way. The overall winner was the Livesey family of Ford Lane who had transformed their house into a magical winter wonderland using completely recycled and reclaimed materials. Nichola Livesey was presented with a hamper which was put together by our group.
Everyone who entered the competition were given a small prize as a thank you for entering.

Thank you all for taking part.

We also want to give a special mention to the Sage Hair Studio on Station Road for their amazing hand-painted window display, showing Mrs Claus having her hair cut by an Elf!

The judges have spoken and we have our winners!
Very well done and thank you to everyone who took part in our first "Best Dresses House" for Christmas competition.
Winners will be contacted on Thursday and we would like to give all who entered a little something to say thank you and well done, which we will arrange on Wednesday.
