We all know planning a wedding is super stressful... this new programme airing in 2023 sounds like a great watch 👀

**MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT GUYS!**

Been dying to tell you all about this for months now but it’s been top secret - I’m in the middle of filming a super exciting, brand new show for BBC Two alongside Fred Sirieix and Raj Somaiya made by BBC Studios

So the official news has just gone out and here are the headlines for you…

“Master of Ceremonies (working title) will see eight wedding planners battle it out to prove they are Britain’s next best wedding expert as they design spectacular ceremonies for six couples.

Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, First Dates favourite Fred Sirieix and wedding industry expert Raj Somaiya will be the judges and mentors - overseeing the planners as they create dream weddings for our couples. Throughout the competition they will send home the weakest planner until just two remain in the final where the planners will face one final challenge to decide who will be crowned the winner.”

We started filming last week and OMG it’s just the most amazing show! We’re shooting more this weekend and I’ll keep you posted as much as I can in stories so keep an eye out! Watch this space!

Loving our new neon sign... we chose "All you need is love" because those are the lyrics to the song Andrew and I walked out of the church to as newly weds on our wedding day, almost 17 years ago 💒

It had it's first hire recently for Samantha & Gary's wedding at the beautiful ... hung inside our moongate arch, dressed with an elegant chiffon swag and floral topper to create the perfect backdrop for this lovely couple's "I Do" moment 😍

After rescheduling their wedding 4 times, Mr & Mrs Sharpe finally tied the knot and we wish them all the very best for a happily married life 🥰

It was a pleasure to play our part in decorating for Katherine and Gavin's wedding at the beautiful Inn on the Lake... they chose our stunning canopy blossom trees, rose garland arch on the lakeside gazebo and lanterns to frame the aisle for their outdoor ceremony 😍 elegant chair bows from Simply Bows and Chair Covers - Cumbria & West Northumberland provided the finishing touch to compliment the couple's pale green colour scheme 🎀

So lovely to be back at Inn On The Lake Lake District Hotels doing what we love and getting to catch up with the amazing staff team after so long... it's nice to feel positive after such a tough year for the wedding industry and the year ahead is going to be our busiest yet! 🥳

April 12th is a good day for 2 reasons...

1️⃣ today, our country embarks on step 2 of the government's roadmap out of lockdown... giving us all hope that life will start returning back to normality soon, loved ones can reunite, businesses will recover and most importantly, our lovely couples can finally get excited about 🥰

2️⃣ today, we received a lovely email congratulating us on being recognised as 'Outstanding' in the décor category of The Wedding Emporium Business Industry Awards 2021... the positivity is greatly welcomed after such a tough year for the wedding industry, so thank you for this unexpected 'pick me up' 😍

We've been busy behind the scenes, re-organising the diary and our showroom ready for lots of wedding planning consultations... it's hard to believe that we'll soon be back to doing what we love and can't wait to see all our engaged couples to help them plan their venue decor 😍

Recently, we were thrilled to be asked by Macdonald Leeming House to style their beautiful venue for a photoshoot... alongside our other business, Simply Bows and Chair Covers - Cumbria & West Northumberland, we styled the restaurant in elegant blush and peach tones for a wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast. We also decorated The Blue Room for a smaller ceremony and wedding breakfast to suit those more intimate weddings, dressed with trendy dusty blue shades to compliment the room.

It was a super busy few days and it was lovely to be 'back at it', working alongside the venue's fab team and great suppliers like Peter from Peter Ostrowski Photographer Cumbria... his photos are brilliant and here's a sneak peek 📸

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that, if strict conditions are met, couples in England may be able to host weddings of up to 15 from 12th April, 30 from 17th May and that from 21st June at the earliest, ALL restrictions on weddings could be lifted

We were approached by CFM earlier this week to take part in their breakfast news story about the lack of support for the wedding industry and the help that is needed...

So I got up at 5:50am on Tuesday (whilst Andrew was still snoring 😴) to listen in... who out there actually likes the sound of their own voice?? 🙈

It was great to be given the opportunity to have our voice heard and stand up for weddings, alongside Sarah Haywood Weddings & Celebrations on behalf of the UK Weddings Taskforce 📣

Our comments were shared by CFM news on the hour, 5 times during the morning show from 6am until 10am with the fab Robbie Dee! It has taken me all week to figure out how to pull all our radio snippets together and make a video to share with you all 🤪

The UK Weddings Taskforce is the single unified voice representing the needs of our diverse and viable £14.7 billion wedding industry and we're so grateful for their tireless work in engaging with the government. 👏

We've backed the What About Weddings campaign and thank them for their awesome dedication in raising awareness and lobbying the goverment for urgent support on behalf of wedding suppliers like us, the wedding venues we work in and all those engaged couples waiting to finally say "I do!" 💞

We are hopeful that our collective voices will ensure weddings are included in the government's announcement on Monday and that the Prime Minister will produce a roadmap that offers some clarity, addressing the obstacles to our sector safely opening up towards a full recovery. 🤞🙏🤞

TWO HEARTS BEAT AS ONE 💕

Some of you may know that one half of this husband and wife team (Jaimie) was a staff nurse for 13 years on the neonatal intensive care unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. While weddings are temporarily postponed, we wanted to give back in someway during these stressful times...

Through our business, we support 4Louis charity who support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and the death of a baby or child... we'd love your help in supporting them and wondered if there were any keen knitters out there with time on their hands, who might be able to knit some of these small hearts in pairs 💕

We shared this post back in April... our neighbour and my mum got involved in knitting some, but we'd love to collect a few more 🤞 I can't knit but I can organise things and when we have enough, I'll pay to post them to the charity too.

The dedicated team at 4Louis put these heart pairs in the memory boxes that they donate to the Special Care Baby Unit and other hospital wards, who in turn give them to families affected by Covid 19 💞 One heart is kept by a parent/family member, while the other stays with the baby/patient ❤

As long as they are in pairs, any colours are accepted and the hearts can be knitted, crocheted or sewn from fabric/material too 🧶 The hearts need to be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and here's a link to the pattern:

Today, we ask you to please join us in liking & reposting this image, as we support the What About Weddings team in launching this new campaign to bring the wedding industry & our community together in solidarity to stand up for weddings.

The global wedding industry employs millions of people in every corner of the world. It is dominated by female led businesses who contribute billions to economies. It creates millions of memories in the minds & hearts of people in every part of society.

In most countries, we are still heavily restricted or banned from working during the pandemic. In the U.K. we have been closed in all but name since March 2020, without any meaningful or targeted financial support. Couples have not been told when they can marry again, or in what capacity.

We ask our leaders for financial support & guidance on reopening. We must not lose our talent. We must not lose livelihoods. We must not forget the importance of love & commitment.
