A MUSICAL TRIBUTE. Earlier this month I had the honour of writing and delivering the Celebration of Life service for Barrie Netting at Altrincham Crematorium, working alongside Arthur Kershaw Funeral Services LTD. Barrie was a great lover of music and so it was appropriate that I explained, during the service, why the three pieces of music chosen meant so much to Barrie. One of the pieces was one of Barrie’s and wife Maureen’s favourites and one they had sung during their time with Altrincham Choral Society. Another Barrie had himself sung on stage, during a Buxton Amateur Dramatics and Operatic Society (BADOS) production. It meant so much to me that just days after the service Barrie’s wife Maureen sent me this much appreciated message: ‘Dear Bob, the family and I want to thank you for the lovely service you prepared for Barrie's funeral. It was everything he would have wanted to remember and was very moving. With our thanks and best wishes from Maureen Netting and all the family.’ Thank you, Maureen. RIP Barrie.
