It seems like a long time ago since we first met and you were both bursting with vision and ideas on how to make your day uniquely yours. Well, you absolutely nailed it! Taking the beautiful Rottal Steading and putting your stamp well and truly on to it. You both have wonderful family and friends to help your dream day materialise.

When I design wedding slideshows I always ask for the couple to send me their music choices. Over the years (that makes me sound well old), I've formed quite a collection of wedding music play lists and they always reflect the personality of the couple so well.

When I first started, the choices were much more mainstream think 'Angels' Robbie Williams or Lone Star 'Amazing', now it feels much more like couples are pushing the boundaries a bit more with music. So what was your first dance song and why?

This week, Ralph and Varie included 'Walking on the waves' by Tidelines. What a song! Perfect for the groups section of the images.

Well knock me down with a feather, I had absolutely no idea how much of a response my bo***ir post would generate, I was that unprepared, I don't even have a package pricelist for the many ladies who enquired! I will resolve that very soon and am hoping to work in partnership with a hair and beauty professional in order to offer the whole experience.

So... how brave are you? Bo***ir isn't a genre I shoot a lot, to be honest - but this was definitely fun! Playing with light and body angles, trying to understand what your client is comfortable with and attempting to make the process less nerve-racking.

We shot these in my home/studio and my wonderful customer has allowed me to share some of the images. ("NO FACE SHOTS THOUGH"!!) haha.

*If this was my bum, I'd definitely be taking full ownership of it 🤣*

Todays theme is sunrise! I've seen some pretty good ones in my time and this time of year can produce some real crackers, but the one that sticks out in my mind was what I witnessed in Culkien Stoer, Assynt. It just seemed to go on indefinitely, through a range of purples, pinks and reds, then eventually orange beams bursting through the clouds. Truly stunning. So lets see your sunrise photos :)

A great hack is to search 'sunrise' in Google Photos and it can bring up long lost results you may have forgotten about!

We are particularly thrilled with the article about HorseBack in this month's British Equestrian magazine and especially delighted that it features the work of our favourite photographer, Fay Vincent. Fay has been a friend of HorseBack since our very early days, and has captured so many of our stories with her brilliant eye and her dazzling photographic skills. You can see from this picture how glorious her work is. It's always a banner day when Fay comes up the drive, and we are so grateful to her for everything she has done to support the charity over the years.

Urgh, January. Now don't get me wrong, I love the dramatic sunrise and sunsets, crisp cold mornings and cosy jumper vibe - but dreaming of far-away places and adventures is where my mind wanders when the days are dreich.

I LOVE Scotland as a holiday destination, but for today's post I'm going with Croatia as my 'far away option'. We loved it so much we went twice!

Yesterday's post was so brilliant, thanks to everyone who took the time to add their pictures, it was great getting notifications through the day and opening them, like a one day advent calendar 🤗

Also, just so lovely to see so many of my past couples, where DOES the time go!!!???

I think the overriding theme was 'emotion' be it love, happiness, joyfulness, dispair (I'm thinking of your Dad Ruth 😂) when it's captured forever it's a special thing and a big reason a lot of people say 'I don't want many posed photos'. Although Rach and Beej, your sunset photo is an absolute banger (if I do say so myself haha) and my law still stands, if you get a good sunset on your wedding day you HAVE to stand in front of it for me! 👮🏼‍♀️🚨

Anyway, I loved it so much, today's theme is family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Same gig as yesterday, I don't have to of taken it, it doesn't have to be formal or by a professional, I just want to know WHY you love that particular picture. Is it the location memory? A loved one no longer here? Because you managed to finally get everyone together? It doesn't have to be a huge family portrait, just YOUR family.

First thing I do in any photo with me in it is look at myself, I think that's pretty normal, because let's face it, if you don't like how you look it's unlikely to go above the fireplace - rather in it 🤣
