Openreach
One of the villagers has recently had problems with slow WiFi. The engineer who came out to check it told her that most of the wiring in the cabinet that serves the village needs replacing, but that he can't do this unless a fault is reported. So if your WiFi is running slowly you may want to report it.
Glass Bins now located in Village Hall Grounds they will be emptied weekly on a Friday. (You can mix colours)
These are a temporary measure until a large one coming available

Bus Stop Clean Up!
A big thank you to Chris, Ian and Barry for cleaning the bus stop at the bridge end of the village. It looks so much better.

A gold coloured necklace has been found on Manse Crescent, possibly belonging to a little girl. Its at 1 Manse Crescent if you think it may belong to you.
Has anyone seen this cat? She has been missing for well over 24 hours from Jennymill Gardens. She goes by the name of Vanilla and doesn't have a collar on. She loves going into sheds/garages, so if you have been in yours in the past 2 days could you please check she hasn't snook in. Thanks
We are looking for a Treasurer to join our committee!
This would be a voluntary role and would require a few hours each month, and we are looking for a new treasurer to start as soon as possible.
Experience or knowledge is preferable but a full handover would take place with our current treasurer to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
Duties would include:
- undertaking book keeping duties and ensuring that accurate records are maintained
- acting as one of our authorised signatories on behalf of the committee
- provide monthly updates on finances to the committee
- provide an annual financial statement for the AGM

Oil Tanks - A Warning.
The Village Hall Committee believes that a substantial amount of oil has gone missing from its oil tank recently. We have now reported this to the police and reviewed our security. Give this only came to light when our boiler stopped working, we thought it worthwhile making villagers aware so they can be vigilant.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Householders with a Monday collection are requested to place their grey-, blue-, and red-lidded bins out as normal for collection on Monday 6 May.
There will be no food waste collection service on Monday. Food waste will be collected the following Monday. If your large kerbside food caddy is full, excess food waste can be deposited in your grey-lidded bin.
Our Household Waste Recycling Centres will be open as normal.

It’s 3 weeks tomorrow until our popular Spring Fayre in Brydekirk Village Hall. So the organising is now kicking in and we hope all the talking about Spring Fayre will bring us beautiful weather, soon!! ☀️ 🤞
We would dearly love (and we dearly need) the following donations to our Spring Fayre.
These can be dropped off at school.
* Raffle prizes. Eg toiletries, bottles of something, chocolates, treats, etc etc. 🎟️ 🎁
*Any prize donations from local businesses, like vouchers etc. Have a think if there is a business you know who you could ask. Thank you.
*We would be ever so grateful for home baking donations of tray bakes and cakes etc. (We will let you know nearer the time what time the hall will be open for you to drop off your bakes on the day.) 🍰 🍪
*We need good quality children’s books, good quality and working children’s toys and good quality and working household items please.
*And finally, we have a shout out from the teachers, asking for donations of empty and CLEAN glass jars (including lids) of the cooking sauce type. Can these be brought to the school over the next 2 weeks please. Thank you!🫙(don’t forget those lids!)

I had originally completed an online form and the company that started the work EcoTech Contracts Ltd had left my house in a terrible mess, Infinite Energy have turned this mess that was left by EcoTech around and have done a fantastic job! Although we don’t know the next collection date, Rag Bags can be brought to the school to be stored there prior to collection day. As soon as we know the date, we will let you know.

Rag Bag accepts ‘Wearable’ clothes/shoes to go in black bin bags and can be brought to the school any day.
Money is paid to our wee school based on weight of clothes.
Clothes/shoes go to good causes.
