Posted • Plan a real wedding not a reel wedding. That’s my motto.

I loathe the phrase “plan an Instagram worthy wedding”.

What does that even mean? Are they suggesting couples should plan their wedding with the likes of strangers in mind? Is the sole purpose of your special day nothing more than to be judged “worthy” by complete strangers?

What idiot thought that was a good idea?

Plan a wedding that is worthy of YOU! A day that reflects who you truly are together and a day that you’re comfortable with.

Don’t get obsessed or overwhelmed by the trends and the latest ideas. Take what you see as inspiration then make it your own. Have what suits you and what you can afford. Don’t go into debt for someone else’s benefit.

There are many ways to save money without compromise. Many ways to spend your money more wisely. And many, many, many ways to waste your money too.

Whether you’re spending five thousand pounds or fifty-five thousand pounds, do what makes you happy and what you can afford - and if that’s all the bells and whistles then knock yourself out! But if “I Do” followed by fish and chips in the park makes you happy then don’t be afraid to do it.

You will never look back at your wedding and reminisce over the colour of the napkins. You’ll remember the people, the atmosphere, the loved ones that are no longer with you, the dancing, the food, the weather!! the laughter, the reunion of families and the love and happiness your loved ones wished for you.

It’s people that make a memorable wedding not props and colour schemes or going viral on Instagram.

So free yourself from following the rules that don’t even exist.

Be yourselves and strive only to be “worthy” of each other.
