On Sunday evening it's the last Anster gig of the season from King Creosote, Pip Dylan and Gummi Bako. It's in Dreel Halls' upper hall with doors at 7:30pm. Admission £15.

There's a talk by Audrey Yeardley this evening at Dreel Halls at 7pm:

"There is so much we don't understand about the universe and, even, about our own existence. So much is hidden from our eyes, as well as much that's been, deliberately, concealed from discovering our origins. And, yet, the big question remains: What if the gods of our myths were not mere legendary figures, but cosmic explorers, from distant worlds, come to shape the fate of humanity?"

"The answers lie in a radical re-examination of ancient texts, the evidence of long-gone (and advanced) civilisations and the work of those dedicated linguists who suss out mis-translations, and deliberate falsifications. As well as those who've made heresies out of truth: and, thus, brain-washed their adherents."

On Friday 13th December between 7pm and 8.30pm, Audrey Yeardley has organised a talk that gathers together 'long-hidden information about how humanity was brought to planet Earth and testimony to those who (often to the most severe of retributions) followed the trail of records stored, on stone tablets by ancient cultures, and information given to them, from a higher consciousness'.
Audrey will lay out why she thinks too many people cannot reach their potential and will provide her own reading list for listeners.

We're pretty excited about this special 10th anniversary screening of the remarkable From Scotland With Love, made entirely of Scottish film archive.

The film will be introduced by Producer, Grant Keir, and Director, Virginia Heath. It is a journey into our collective past that explores universal themes of love, loss, resistance, migration, work and play. Ordinary people, some long since dead, their names and identities largely forgotten, appear shimmering from the depth of the vaults to take a starring role. Brilliantly edited together, these silent individuals become composite characters, who emerge to tell us their stories, given voice by the transcendent score of the East Neuk’s very own King Creosote.

King Creosote will close this special celebration with a short performance of live songs.

Calling All Artists

Hello, what better way to spend those long winter nights than coming along to our new friendly life (live model) drawing group at the Dreel Hall in Anstruther?

The groups first session will be Friday the 29th of Nov 2024 in the Upper Hall. Entry from 6.30 pm, drawing starts at 6:45pm (1.5 hours of drawing time) finishing at 8:15pm. Chairs and tables provided, please bring your own materials and refreshments. (sessions will continue to run the last Friday of each month)

£7 entry to cover model costs etc
