The man behind the barn… and the real boss Nettle!
(Chris is going to die when he sees this so show some love!)

This duo have given everything to create the most beautifully curated wedding venue in the Eden Valley. Every inch of the barns have been lovingly restored and repurposed. From mirror, doors and a bar top made of parquet flooring - it’s all been salvaged and given a new lease of life. Sustainable and eco led, the build, has been a true labour of love.

So when you come for viewing this is the dynamic duo you can expect to greet you! See you soon ✨

[[Helen + Ryan]] took Ghyll Barn by storm at the weekend for their rockin’ DIY wedding —hilltop dancing, fierce vibes, and a bridesmaid squad serving looks🔥 This crew knows how to break the mould. With Ryan’s sister officiating and the couple arranging their own flowers it was zero fuss, they kept it real, fun, and all about the love.

[[E+J]] “We recently got married at Ghyll Barn, and wow, what a venue. It was the first place we looked round when we were searching for the perfect place and knew straight away it was the one for us. After viewings at other venues nowhere else compared.

Chris and Lisa were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much to ask. We were married in the little barn, followed by drinks on the terrace and the meal and wedding party in the main barn. We had access from the Friday morning to decorate how we liked, and spent our wedding night in the Helm Hut - the perfect end to the best day.

Ghyll Barn is quirky and unique, and our guests haven’t stopped talking about what an amazing venue it is. We feel very lucky to have held our special day here.

[[ We’re ]] very excited for everything that’s happening at Ghyll Barn at the moment. As a fairly new venue it’s all happening as we are welcoming more and more couples to tie the knot here on what was our working farm.

Myself (Chris) and the gang can’t wait to show you all around in August - pop the 11th in your diary! If you’re on the look out for a venue that’s the up and coming place to get hitched in and around the lakes then you should definitely come and take a peek 👀

With plenty of ceremony options whether that be our original Ghyll Barn; our brand new Larl Barn or; outdoors in the gardens we surely have something to suit!

We have very limited availability for summer dates in 2025 and dates are being snapped up for 2026 already.

The whole place is filled with reclaimed and repurposed interiors and truly is a beaut space where you can let your personalities run wild - we love something a bit different and no wedding ever looks the same here.

[[ WHY ]] choose to get married at Ghyll Barn? We’ll let Jess tell you…

✨“Where do I start with this fantastic venue. When booking our wedding we knew we wanted somewhere private, quirky and somewhere our guests had never been before and then Ghyll Barn popped up! It ticked all the boxes and we were blown away when we first came to visit and couldnt get over all the little features, the disco ball in the toilets, the backdrop made out of old doors, the up cycled mirror plus all the other quirky items with a story to tell. Chris and the team have been so helpful and were quick to respond to any emails (i’m a-bit of a perfectionist but any suggestions or concerns I had were sorted quickly and easily).
We had access to the venue the day before and after which was perfect for setting up and clearing away the following day.
Chris and Lisa understood our vision for the day and strongly encouraged any idea’s we had! On the wedding day, Chris (Chief Nodder) was cool, calm and collected and put me at ease straight away. I’ll never forget the moment me and my dad were about to walk down the aisle - the kindness he showed us and the excitement he seemed to have was a lovely touch - even the next day he was raving about our day and couldn’t wait to talk to us about it which was lovely (you definitely wouldn’t get that personal touch at some of the bigger hotels ect in the lakes and it feels like you are part of the ghyll barn family)

[[ ANOTHER ]] glorious day at GB!

How cute does our little Helm Hut look sitting there in the meadow!?

Did you know you can hire her out for the evening of your wedding to escape the chaos? No? Well this little beaut is the perfect off grid cosy getaway - complete with double bed, wash stand and log burning stove.

The hut itself has been restored and put back together by the lads at Ghyll Barn. Loads of quirky reclaimed materials with history - just the way we like it!
