💙❤️Legal Paperwork ❤️💙

Before the “I dos”… comes the paperwork ✍️

✨We know wedding planning is exciting but before the celebrations start, there’s some important paperwork to take care of!✨

If you’re getting married in Scotland, here’s what every couple needs to know:

✅ Marriage Notice Forms (m10s)

These must be submitted to the registrar in the district where the ceremony will take place ,no later than 29 days before the big day.
We recommend allowing 6–8 weeks, or longer if subject to immigration control.

✅ Documents you’ll need

Passports, birth certificates, and proof of address are essential.
If applicable , you’ll also need divorce decrees or death certificates of previous spouses.

✅ How to submit

In Angus you need to make an appointment to come into the office that suits you best (Forfar, Montrose, Arbroath) with all your original documents.
Please note, we can’t accept notices by email unless this has been agreed by the registrar first.

This is the same whether you’re having a civil ceremony or one conducted by a religious or belief group celebrant(humanist)

✨ If you or your partner are subject to immigration control, you’ll need to provide additional documents our team can advise on what’s required.

Please remember about your paperwork,or you may not be able to legally marry!

Earlier this month, we donated £500 to Snap Inverness, supporting their incredible work with children and young people with additional support needs.

Our celebrant Gregor Thurlow-White visited The Haven Centre in Smithton to meet with Jenni Campbell, Services Manager at SNAP. Jenni shared more about the charity’s vital work supporting local families and warmly welcomed the donation.

Giving back is at the heart of what we do at IHC and we're proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause through Kirsty’s Gift, our ongoing charitable initiative💜

A heartfelt and hilarious day at Forbes of Kingennie celebrating Kat & Chris! Their dogs stole the show — Trapper as Best Man and Skye in the bridal party 🐾❤️

They stormed into their wedding breakfast to Thunderstruck and the guests went wild ⚡️
Such a fun-loving couple — can’t wait to see the official photos! 📸

You may have seen recent articles highlighting concerns about non-authorised celebrants carrying out wedding ceremonies. I want to reassure all my past and future couples…

✅ I am fully authorised under Scottish law to legally solemnise marriages and I am supported and registered through Independent Humanist Ceremonies (IHC), a recognised body with National Records of Scotland (NRS).

🎤 My social media is here to showcase my personality, my storytelling style, and the way I create ceremonies that feel like you- joyful, heartfelt, fun and romantic.

But please know:
Behind every moment of laughter, love and flair is a professionally trained celebrant who takes the legal solemn declarations of marriage with absolute seriousness and respect.

I have been trained to the highest professional standard through IHC and have also invested in my own development, gaining a diploma that enhances my creativity, delivery and ceremony design.

With me, you get:
-A ceremony that genuinely reflects your story
-Legal declarations completed correctly and confidently
-Guidance through your M10 forms and marriage paperwork
-Creativity, warmth and professionalism in equal measure

Your ceremony will be relaxed, heartfelt and uniquely personal and 100% legal.

If you ever have questions about the legal side, I’ll always explain everything clearly. You’re in safe (and enthusiastic!) hands. 💛
