HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACKULAR III at Bestwood Lodge
Come and join us for an amazing day at Bestwood lodge for a full on day of Markets, Games, Discos, free arts and crafts, and free gifts for all children, We have Zorb balls, culinary delights, a free disco and competitions. Come in your best fancy dress or bring your own carved pumpkin for a prize, we will have a beautiful decorated arena, and 2 licensed bars. Why not get a golden ticket for just £7.50 per person which includes early entry from midday, a goody bag worth £5 for each child, 3 cash prizes of £100, £50 and £25 for adults, a MONSTER BUFFET and early entertainment (doors open 1pm to non golden ticket holders) golden tickets limited to 100 only. all details can be found at Jolly Gardener Events on facebook or feel free to message or comment for details. 🎄✨ Christmas Wreath Making is back for another festive season, hosted by the wonderful Jolly Gardener – get ready to craft! 🌿🎁

WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE GO AHEAD FOR CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING AGAIN!
Come join us for a leisurely stroll around Bestwood country park and collect your hollies, yews and mahonia's for your Christmas wreath. We will then gather in the chapel at Bestwood Lodge with a hot chocolate or a mulled wine and assemble your wreaths. This is a 3 hour workshop, and you don't have to be experienced, and its a fun way to meet people, have a giggle and learn a new skill.

Sessions are on the following dates
Sat 30th November and Sun 1st December
Sat 7th and Sun 8th December
Sat 14th and Sun 15th December

Tickets are £27.50 per person, and this includes refreshments and all additional materials. (£10 per person deposit required)

Statement from Bestwood Lodge:

We were recently made aware of some concerns regarding a conference booking at the hotel, and we understand that, by hosting this event, it has caused upset for some individuals, resulting in a protest outside the hotel.

We would like to make it clear that Bestwood Lodge is a non-political organisation and does not align itself with any political party or ideology. We are in the business of hospitality and operate as a hotel, conference centre, restaurant, and bar. Everyone is welcome at Bestwood Lodge, as long as they are respectful to our staff and fellow guests.

Like most hotels, we don’t normally vet our customers, as our goal is not to judge or discriminate against anyone. However, due to the public concerns raised about this particular booking, we are conducting further due diligence to ensure that all future events align with our company values of inclusivity and respect.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of welcoming customers of almost every nationality, race, and religion without ever considering their political views. This year alone, we have hosted celebrations for people of different faiths, nationalities, and backgrounds, including same-sex weddings, and we take pride in delivering an equally high standard of service to every guest.

Our greatest asset is our amazing team of staff, who come from a variety of backgrounds. We are fortunate to have a hard-working, conscientious group of individuals who represent the diverse and inclusive values that Bestwood Lodge stands for. We have always strived to create a safe and enjoyable working environment where all of our employees can thrive without fear of prejudice or discrimination.

It is therefore disappointing that during the protest, some of our staff were subjected to verbal abuse and unfair accusations of racism. We believe in the right to peaceful protest, but such actions undermine the very message of respect and inclusion that these protests aim to promote.

We appreciate the concerns raised by the protesters and the broader community, and we are committed to maintaining the high standards of equality and respect that have always defined Bestwood Lodge. We hope that through dialogue and understanding, we can continue to be a space that welcomes everyone, regardless of their background or beliefs, as long as they uphold the values of respect and inclusivity that we hold dear.

We are sharing this as a statement of our values and stance, and as such, have disabled comments to ensure the focus remains on the message.
