Our November film (Monday 25th November) will be Firebrand (15) starring Jude Law and Alicia Vikander, about Henry VIII’s sixth wife, Catherine Parr. Tickets will be available to purchase after Monday 28th October.

The doors will open at 7pm. The film will start at 7.30pm so plenty of time to grab a treat from the bar – we will be serving prosecco, wine, beer, hot drinks, soft drinks and snacks. We accept cash and cards and the bar will also be open during the interval.

We will have a front row of more substantial seating for anyone who needs these, however we cannot reserve these so arrive early.

Many thanks to all the local businesses that have saved their coffee grounds for use at local allotments this year. Thanks also to Jo Box for taking on the weekly collection and distribution, which will resume next spring. The team at Arundel Town Hall will continue saving their coffee grounds over the winter.

2024 COMMUNITY AWARDS - NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN!

We are inviting nominations for the following three categories:

Community Award – an individual (or a couple) whom you believe has made a sustained and positive contribution to life in Arundel.

Young Person’s Community Commendation – this will be awarded to a young person under the age of 19 for their contribution to the community.

Voluntary Group Community Commendation – NEW THIS YEAR, this will be awarded to a voluntary group judged to have made the greatest contribution to the community in the last two years.

We will also award up to three Community Recognition certificates which will be presented to people who are nominated but do not receive the Community Award Cup.

You may make more than one nomination for each category. A nomination form is included in the autumn edition of The Bell, or you can download and complete the form on the Town Council website. You can also e-mail your nominations to [email protected].

Nominations forms should be returned to Arundel Town Council, The Town Hall, Maltravers Street, Arundel, BN18 9AP or collection boxes in Arundel Post Office, Larkins in Tarrant Street and Hillside Stores in Jarvis Road.

The closing date for nominations is 5pm, Monday 28 October 2024.

This year’s awards will be presented at the Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday 29 November at 6pm.

THE WOMBLES OF ARUNDEL COMMUNITY LITTER PICK
SATURDAY 2 NOVEMBER, 9AM-12 NOON

It's time to don your litter pickers and hi-vis vests and join in with our next Community Litter Pick, the first one bearing our official status as 'The Wombles of Arundel'!

Arundel Town Council are proud to now be recognised as an official Wombles Group by The Wombles Community Charity, who are harnessing the unique appeal and powerful message of The Wombles to encourage positive environmental action in local communities and schools across the UK.

We welcome you for as much or as little of the morning as you are able to spare.

We will have a central meeting point in the Town Square, but other meeting points can be agreed as volunteers come on board to tackle other areas of the town.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON! 💪

What a week I had last week! 🤦‍♀️ After an amazing holiday, I came back and tested positive for COVID on Monday with all your typical symptoms, achy body, temperature, dry cough, the lot!

Knowing I had a wedding at the end of the week, I was determined to get better and be there for my couple’s big day. We worked so hard together for months to create the perfect set list, there was no way I was going to miss it! 💪

As singers who are self employed, we need our voices to be able to work so getting ill, especially with a cold, is NOT an option for us 😂

So with plenty of steaming, honey & lemon and cough syrup, I was well enough to sing for my beautiful bride and groom all the way from when the guests arrived to the speeches 🙏🥹

I’m so happy that I was able to be a part of such a beautiful day with the most wonderful people and suppliers!! 💗
