Last Thursday Donna had the pleasure of staying at Escapade Silverstone as part of Moulden Marketing 24 hour retreat. The hotel is a fabulous addition to Silverstone offering very comfortable 1 - 4 bedroom suites with trackside views. During the 24 hours we got the opportunity to discover hidden parts of Silverstone that spectators don’t normally see and also take part in a pit stop challenge. I’m pleased to say my team won in 4.66 seconds! After time to relax in our suites it was drinks and dinner at Escapade followed by a quiz to see if we had been listening to our guides during the tour! The following morning was down to business meeting with suppliers from Cititravel DMC, Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Amazing DMC Iceland, CONNECT Business Events, Sands Resorts, Hesperia World, Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau & Silverstone.

Thank you to Anne Ridyard & Paul Bradford for hosting the group and Judi Oliver for all your organisation at Silverstone.

After an incredible evening this year, where we raised nearly £15,000 for the Air Ambulance, we are more than committed to continue our mission of supporting worthy causes in the region.

Next year, we are proudly supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People - an organisation close to many of our hearts. Their incredible work provides vital care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

At Inception Events Ltd we are always busy adding new hotels and venues to our database. When we have the time, we love to get out and about to industry events, hotels, venues and meet with people face to face. When we can’t get away from the office we find the time to meet with hotels and venues virtually. We currently have nearly 1600 hotels and venues on our UK & Ireland database along with contacts for 105 UK hotel groups. Over the weekend Donna had a fabulous 4 days in Amsterdam at The MEETINGS SPACE hosted at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam. A great selection of supplier meetings, cheese tasting activity at The Old Amsterdam a dinner at the impressive Het Scheepvaart Museum , with very creative food. It was great to spend Saturday afternoon on the discovery day visiting , dinner at Hotel Okura Amsterdam and overnight Pillows Hotel Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park. Sunday morning we got to travel around Amsterdam like a local on bikes with a stop to learn more about diamonds at house of Gassan with a delicious farewell lunch at Capital C. A big thank you to all those involved in the organisation.

A massive thank you to Leonardo Hotels for hosting their first agency ball @ Leonardo Hinckley Island. Such a fantastic evening with none stop entertainment, dancing and fabulous food and drink. Hats off to Tia Goadby for doing such an amazing job pulling it all together 💃🥂

The final day in Finnish Lapland didn’t disappoint with dog sledding and snow shoeing. What a fantastic destination for incentive groups, a great variety of hotels, fabulous food and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever met. Thank you to & for the invite and giving Donna the opportunity to experience a wonderful part of the world. What an amazing 2 days so far experiencing Finnish Lapland. We’ve visited the Snow ice hotel, experienced Finnish Sauna’s, driven to a frozen lake on snowmobiles and fished for our lunch! The highlight so far though is seeing the northern lights and floating in a lake in bright red suits. More fun today with dog sledding and snow shoeing on the agenda ⛄️

Another great AIEA event, the day started with the members AGM followed by meetings with fantastic suppliers in the afternoon and then the awards evening with this years theme the letter M. Congratulations to all the winners and a big shout out to everyone for making such an effort 🎉🕺🏻💃

Wow is the first thing that comes to mind when I have looked back on the photos of an amazing FAM trip to Cape Town organised by mundusrepresentation and their DMC Grosvenor Travels and Tours. A big thank you also to Kathy All About Flights for arranging the flights.

An action packed 4 days from the moment we landed with sparkling wine at Signal Hill, motorbikes and side cars to The Twelve Apostles Hotel for a showround, lunch at Bungalow and a whistle stop trip to Table Mountain. Overnight was at the lovely One & Only Hotel with a fabulous dinner at Nobu.

Day 2 was the Amazing Place race with kayaking, tasks at the Westin, a visit to the 6th district museum, a pit stop for a sugar hit at the True Coffee Roasting, then lunch at Auntie Shaamiela's house in the Bo Kaap. A bit of downtime at the gorgeous Belmond Mount Nelson and a delicious tasting menu.

Day 3 saw us starting the day with a Rib boat ride to see the seals in Hout Bay, a stunning drive along Chapman Peaks drive with a pit stop for a G&T, followed by a windy stop at Cape Point and a beach lunch along the way. The last activity of the day was a Macassar pottery give back activity. The final nights hotel was the stunning Erinvale Hotel & Spa in the winelands, with drinks in the garden and a delicious dinner.

The final day was all about the wine, starting with a visit to Vergelegen for a wine safari, followed by olive and wine tasting at Morgenster with delicous tasting boards. A swim, refresh and repack at Boschendal cottages before our overnight flight back to a very cold UK!

It's been a few weeks since our last post about what's happening each week. For the first full working week of 2023 it's already a busy one with a catch up and lunch on Tuesday with Margaret Al-Kubaisi (nee Lee) from ALEXANDER HOTELS LIMITED. On Wednesday afternoon Alia Saunders is making a visit to Lion Court to give an update on Travelmediate. To finish the week off I will be joining Mundus Representation on a FAM trip to Cape Town showcasing the best of what the region can offer for incentives and events.

In between all of that we are busy working on a variety of projects including a high end client incentive in the UK, one to Sorrento and registration for a client conference for 250 people.

Here's to a busy 2023 and some sunshine in Cape Town!
