I would like to say a big thank you to sergeant Rob Cross & PC Mark Collins from Leicestershire Police for putting on a rural first aid course last night. Lots more people were definitely interested in buying defibs too, which is amazing!

We are hoping to run some CPR & DEFIB classes at the centre, so keep an eye out for that.

What happened to Clive on the 2nd Aug was all captured on CCTV and is excellent as a firstaid training video.

One of the still images I have captured that day is very poignant and will be used as a campaign picture to get people to realise they need to make time and take time out if their busy lives to go and learn something that potential could save a family members life!

Hands up, who has netflix, disney, amazon prime, phones, other subscriptions that you invest in every month...... I'm so glad, we invested in a defib, it allows us to now sit together and still watch netflix and talk together on the phone.

I would like to say thank you for following our journey, it has impacted so many people's lives and we will continue to campaign for defibs to be available at work and for people to understand how to use them.

You never know when you'll need this skill !!!!!!
A member of your family, a friend or a member of the public may need you to help them one day.

I've heard people say "what if I do it wrong" well ....my thoughts are doing something is better than nothing. And trust me! I understand you freeze up if faced with that situation, but if you have some knowledge, it kicks starts your inner samaritan and you get on with it.

I'm forever greatful that we had a defib and I got my head around giving my husband CPR! Because my reward is..... I can still cuddle up to him at night.

So, if you can't book this one, look for another course. Please don't keep letting life get in the way of the potential of learning how to save one!!!

The focus will be on rural first aid and emergencies - defib / catastrophic injuries etc.

Although not a formal qualification there will be a certificate of attendance for those who would like it for a professional portfolio etc.

They are limiting numbers, so it will be on a first come first served basis.

You must pre register with spaces being limited.

As always we have had an AMAZING day and had the privilege of meeting some awesome people including the Womens England under 19 Cricket Team.

It was a pleasure to host all of your events at our activity centre. Thank you for supporting our business. 🙏 and thank you to our team of staff who as usual smashed it 👌

Leicestershire Police Are hosting a free introduction to first aid at Leicestershire Police HQ on the 28th October 7pm till approx 9pm.

The focus will be on rural first aid and emergencies - defib / catastrophic injuries etc.

Although not a formal qualification there will be a certificate of attendance for those who would like it for a professional portfolio etc.

They are limiting numbers, so it will be on a first come first served basis.

You must pre register with spaces being limited.

Clive and I will be attending too, helping raise awareness of what to do and what not to do in those important few moments. We did our first aid refresher yesterday. Bought a few memories back 😳

Does the cloud picture look like a werewolf?

Good morning you lovely lot. So yesterday a customer took a pic over the centre that he said looked like a werewolf, what do you think? (Picture in comments)

I promise I'm going to post more on social media. We have been very lapse recently given everything that has been going on. But we're all feeling much better and hopefully on our way back up the ladder. (This will only make sense to those of you who have been following the story about Clive)

🌟Family🌟
So lots of you know, a couple of months ago Clive suffered a cardiac arrest.
We love our family business and put our heart and soul into it (parden the pun). We love to see other people having fun, enjoying an activity that we lead. And I'm sure you know our instructors are quite the entertainers too 🤣

Tonight we went to visit Pinder's Circus, a family business that is in Ashby at the moment. What shone through is just how much this family business loves what they do, you could feel the passion, energy and dedication that they put into their business.

It was beautiful to see my grandson and my husband enjoying some good old fashioned entertainment together. ❤️

P.s take a rain mac 🤪🤣🤣

Please find below some pics of some groups having fun at the activity centre over the last few weeks.

I'm so sorry we haven't posted recently. I can not put into words just how difficult the last 2 months have been and I would like to thank the staff for being amazing and our regular customers for their continued support.

Today I got to meet one of the amazing critical care team from the air ambulance that attended when I (Clive) had my cardiac arrest at work on the 2nd Aug.

I still can not believe what happened that day...in the blink of an eye my life ended and luckily for me Kelly was fast to act and saved my life. I have recieved amazing care from the derby CCU and I am feeling so much better. Unfortunately what happened to me had a massive impact on those who witnessed it too, including Kelly who has been feeling the effects of having to give a loved one CPR the physical affects of actually giving CPR.

This is my plea to all of you reading this...
1.Enjoy every day. We are here for a good time, not a long time.
2. Do a first aid course.
3. Get you cholesterol checked and really analyse what your eating and drinking.
4. Campaign for a defib to be at your place of work, your life is worth it. I'm so lucky we had one on site ❤️

Belter of a day yesterday! Bit chilly, think I need to dig my thermal pants out.... winters coming 🥶 but that did not stop any of our groups from having lots of fun!!

Paul, Kim & Andrew was teaching yesterday, some
AMAZING SCORES too, check the leaderboard on our website to see if your on it. And of cause lots of laughs had... mainly at Paul's very poor dad jokes 🤣

We are fully booked over the next 2 weekends, we do have some weekday availability left and we have spaces in October too. Remember you must pre book. 01283 763350

Clive is doing amazing, recovering well and came a wonder around the centre yesterday to check on us all. Hopefully he will be back teaching in a few weeks, the rest will give him time to refresh his poor joke library 🤣 (check back through our Facebook posts to read about clive's story)

Clive Wheeler op update🌟

Firstly I would like to again thank the amazing cardiac team at the Royal Derby Hospital, honestly they are amazing and Clive describes his surgeon as a superhero dressed in normal clothes. ❤️

The op went well, he only needed 1 more stent and he is now home getting some R & R.

Once again thank you so much for all of your messages 😘 and thank you to an amazing lady (Michelle) who works in the Lush shop in Derby today. I went a wonder round Derby while waiting for Clive and I had a little emotional wobble and this lady was so lovely and gave me a much needed cuddle 😘🙏 if anyone knows this lady please pass on my sincere thanks for the kindness that she showed me x
