Granny’s Kitchen is delighted to be joining the millennium market on Sunday 26th May. In honour of this occasion granny has been looking through the history books for a medieval biscuit recipe. Although the ship’s biscuit is the first recorded biscuit this, believe me, would not be pleasant to eat today. Further research led me to the Aberffraw Biscuit which is said to date back to the 12th century and was shortbread based baked in scallop shells. My version of this historical biscuit also includes rose petals as flowers would have been widely used as flavouring. Please come and find us on our stall where we will be giving these biscuits as a gift to all that come to see us.
We look forward to welcoming you.
