A vacancy has opened for a full-time assistant in the Pro Shop.

The position requires an enthusiastic, self-starter with good communication skills and preferably a knowledge of golf, however, full training will be given.

Whilst a full-time position, hours of work are seasonally based.

I have had quite a few requests for my Sticky Toffee Pudding, an all time favourite when I was at the Clubhouse. So, along with the Cheesecakes I will also be making these for Christmas. There is limited availability for this so please book early.

After working all these years it’s nice that I am able to pass the Catering Franchise over to a hard working and deserving couple. Last Day and now Last Meal Served!! 🧑‍🍳🥲
On a very personal note I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped to make M R Catering the successful business it is - from the lovely customers , the hard working staff and all the suppliers that have supported me over the years.
It has been a roller coaster ride at times but I have loved every minute of it (well almost 🤔😂)
I’m not going to miss the early alarms going off, especially the 5.30am ones! The 70hr weeks, the not knowing if you can get the prep done before the first check comes on, missing lots of my family celebrations/occasions, falling asleep on my breaks and the general lack of rest and time off.
I am however going to miss the walks to work, the adrenaline rush on all the busy shifts, the banter we all have had in the kitchen and especially meeting everyone over the years. What a blast it has been!
Thank you everyone!!!!!!
Now where’s that bottle 🍾 and tv remote 😂

Staff - Well what can I say, you have all been amazing over the years 😀 we used to call it Team Riva and what fantastic teams we have had. It’s been incredibly hard work over the years but we have also had a lot of fun along the way 😂. Thank you to everyone that worked for me - you guys were amazing, M R Catering would certainly not have been as successful without each and every one of you working as hard as you did. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, I will miss you all!

M R Catering Cheesecake Factory is closing down 🥲(well.. maybe just for now 😜)

I’m going to be making my last ever cheesecake here in the next day or two.
If after my last day, anyone has any special requests or would like one made for an occasion or just because you fancy one, I would be more than happy to do this for you… As long as I’m not sunning it up somewhere on a tropical island (haha I wish!!!)
Last Christmas, excluding the restaurant and bar, solely on collections, I made 42 cheesecakes, and 72 sticky toffee puddings for Christmas Eve! My biggest challenge was where I could store them all before collection🙈😂

In the early days Christmas was all about the tribute acts and we certainty had a lot of them and then we moved onto Party nights. Both were always busy and what an atmosphere!! From our small kitchen it was a military style operation to make sure up to 130 Guests food went out by 7pm.
We had great fun on those nights and it always made our day seeing everybody up dancing and having fun.

I don’t think there is a single type of function that I haven’t catered for since I started M R Catering 🤔
Various Open days, So many different Members Days to mention, Golf Parties, AmAm days, Charity Events, Ryder Cup, Soiem Cup, Masonic Golf Days, Mothers Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas Party Nights, Tribute Act Nights, Kids Party’s, Baby Showers, Christenings, BBQs, Conferences, Trade Shows, Burns Suppers, Ladies and Gents Golf Dinners, Sportsmans Dinners, Engagement Dinners, Surprise Birthday Parties, Weddings, Wedding Anniversaries, 1st to 103rd birthdays, Afternoon Teas, Funerals, Camera Club, Probus Club, Rotary, Ladies Inner Wheel, Langtoon Probus Club. Ladies Luncheon Club, Walking Group’s, Maj yong, Bridge Club, Junior events, Pool Nights and so many more to mention.

Unfortunately these type of events requires a little more time and patience to prep so I definitely didn’t get as many photos as I wish I could have got. Below is just a very short snap of some done here at the golf club.

My commute has generally been un eventful but on one particular day I was walking home in the pi***ng rain it was that bad the roads were pretty flooded!! When from nowhere a Range Rover came past me straight through the puddle (it was actually a lake at that point) and yep you guessed it! totally drenched me. My verbal and body language must have been a picture!! Needless to say they didn’t stop 😡. Next thing I get a phone call from Andrew Aitken absolutely killing himself with laughter !! He was driving the car behind and saw everything and oddly he claims he has no idea who it was that soaked me 🤔but I bet if he had had a dashcam it would have been on YouTube 😂😂😂😂 🤦‍♂️ isn’t that right Andrew
