❣️IMPORTANT UPDATE-PLEASE READ❣️
It is with a heavy heart, that I write to tell you all that the Gray family are moving on from Moor Hall to pastures new. Since opening our doors as a venue, we have hosted a total of 92 weddings, various baby showers, christenings and birthday parties. It’s been amazing to share our home for so many milestones for so many families.
It’s important to remember that Moor Hall was our family home first and foremost before it became a wedding venue. It saw a 2 year renovation project in the year 2000 to get it to a liveable state (barely). It saw 2 teenage daughters leave for their school prom, pass driving tests, boyfriends (not that many thank God!) move out, move back (more than once!) it shares happy memories of family members that are no longer with us, Nanny Rene, Grandad Laurie, Nanny Pink in particular. It saw family Christmas’, birthdays, our beloved dogs Alfie & Audrey that are no longer with us, it saw many New Years Eve Parties and milestone family birthday parties. We’ve had famous artists perform, including Jocelyn Brown & Alexander O’Neill to name a few, we even hosted Mrs Hinch’s first baby shower! We’ve hosted personal charity events & tea parties over the years raising in excess of £30,000 for various charities. In the past 5 years its welcomed 3 gorgeous Grandchildren of those once teenage daughters, Ava, Archie & Ivy who have got to enjoy Moor Hall, albeit for a short time.
A special thanks to Jon Tosko, our gardener, that has worked at Moor Hall for 17 years. Jon wasn’t just our gardener, he was an extension to our family and Alfie & Audrey’s best bud.
The weddings & events were rewarding, the hours were long and we aren’t getting any younger. As my mum always says, Moor Hall isn’t just a house, it is a way of life. Not everything in life is permanent & we all need to make the most of each day as tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
We have been absolutely privileged to have worked with amazing couples as well as suppliers (some from the very beginning) and we wouldn’t have been able to do this without you all. We’ve made friends for life along the way and I extremely proud of what we have achieved over the years.
It is a bitter sweet feeling, moving on from what we have known for the past 21 years, it has been a constant in our lives, we have loved and lost within the walls of Moor Hall and they have wrapped around us through the bad times and the good. If walls could talk, they could certainly tell a story or two.
And so, as we close the doors to Moor Hall, we want to thank you from the very bottom of our hearts, for all of your support, for your recommendations, for your bookings, for your kindness and for believing in us. Please keep the memories of Moor Hall alive through your love for each other, and remember your special days forever, as we certainly will.
With love,
Jodie x
