We had a lot of back and forth yesterday about the rejuvenation plans for the High Street and the new Aylesbury 'Quarter', although we didn't all agree we managed to remain civil and I think you'll agree not many people at this point will read this far. Who remembers The Continental.Stores at 63 Cambridge Street? They had Aylesbury's largest selection of spices and curry powders and on top of that they had a large selection always in stock. Fresh veg and meat daily, ring Tel now on 83450

Aylesbury, town (parish), Aylesbury Vale district, administrative and historic county of Buckinghamshire, southeast-central England. The town lies at the centre of a rich clay vale and serves as the county town (seat) of Buckinghamshire.
It was once an important market town for ducks and dairy produce but is now an expanding centre of industry, which includes food processing, light engineering, and especially printing. The town’s market square is surrounded by such historic buildings as the county hall (1723–40) and the King’s Head Inn (15th century). The 15th-century grammar school is now part of the County Museum. Pop. (2001) 56,457; (2011) 58,740.

Plans for this building in the High Street are proving divisive, the Council intend to demolish the 70 year old building as part of their Aylesbury 'Quarter' regeneration project but many wish to see the building remain as an entertainment hub. What are your thoughts?

Phil Carr on Aylesbury. I originally posted this when Aylesbury was voted worst town in England and Phil was still on YouTube. Obviously Aylesbury was voted the best town in England the following year showing how much Aylesbury can improve when embarrassed nationally or that these polls are fickle and easily manipulated.
