One of the biggest causes of anxiety for many people this day and age is the fear of exclusion. Belonging, whether it is within a friend group, a family, a club, a tribe, is a fundamental need to feel safe, valued and protected. This allows us to be ourselves and be joyful.

With the ever changing rules around what we can and cannot do and say makes us feel (safe to say) uncertain and dangerous and in doing so undermines all of the benefits of belonging.

Therefore it’s important to know that expressing our opinions and truths may result in pushback, alternative opinions and education but the one thing it’s always safe to say is how we feel.

Although many people are more comfortable expressing how they are feeling when they are having down days or are feeling challenged there are still too many of us who show up behind the mask of okay and fine.

It can be helpful to practice alternative ways to describe challenging days, for example today is not a good day. I felt better today. I need to be gentle with myself. These can all be helpful signals to others that you indeed do feel safe to talk about your feelings.

The show must go on! And we're looking for talented local youngsters to take part!
You could be part of the Junior Ensemble in this year's panto 'Sleeping Beauty'. We're looking for talented young dancers aged 9–15 (and school years P5-S4 at the time of production)to audition for a spot in this year’s spectacular pantomime.
Open auditions will take place on Saturday 23 August in St Joseph's Leisure Centre where aspiring young performers will learn a short routine and showcase their skills in front of a panel. No previous experience is required, just energy, enthusiasm, and a love of performing.

For everyone who are sitting a class exam on Sunday please arrive 20 mins before exam for hip hop exams please wear your school t-shirt and black leggings hair in a pony tail and jazz shoes, ballet exams please wear your leotard tights hair in a bun ballet shoes x
