The Parent Council are running a Strawberries & Cream stall 🍓😋🍓at the Ballater Farmers Market this coming Saturday, 22nd June from 10 - 2 pm, raising funds towards activities for the Autumn Term for school 😊
Come along and grab a yummy cup of strawberries & cream, or have a go at Pick-a-Square or the chocolate tombola! Even if the sun doesn't shine we can make the best of the British Summer! 🤪🌞

BVW 2024 is on! We have lots of fabulous new ideas from our open day last month and plans for many of the usual favourites too 🥳.

Want to keep in touch with it all? We know people sometimes struggle to come out on weekday evenings so this Thursday, our planning meeting will be hosted on Teams as well as being live in the Hub.
You are welcome to attend in person or online. You don't have to volunteer for anything or voice and opinion (unless you want to), just listen in 😄.

7.30pm in the Hub if you prefer face to face, or message us for the Teams link.

Hey folks, Easter hols are upon us and the Hub's had a few queries about any potential kids' events running...
At The Halls Ballater has none planned but I would encourage anyone looking for a space to play during the holidays to check the Victoria and Albert Halls, Ballater's online calendar for availability https://www.victoriaandalberthalls.co.uk/calendar/ and book a space for however long you want using their easy online booking portal https://www.victoriaandalberthalls.co.uk/bookings/
The larger Victoria and Albert halls are £18 per hour while the smaller Mike Sheridan and Beaton Craigie rooms are £14ph.
Why not team up with some friends to share the cost? You can bring your own fun (no hard balls please) or there is bound to be something in the resources to entertain you, just ask in the Hub for guidance (please take good care any toys/equipment, let us know of any damage, and put them back where you found them, TIA!🙂)
You can bring your own food in, and use the kitchen to make a cuppa if needed.
It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and adequately supervised by a responsible adult present in the Halls at all times).
Aberdeenshire Library and Information Service and Live Life Aberdeenshire both have a number of great activities for kids over the holidays. Go check them out too.
Don't forget Ballater Playpark Improvements Group's Big PIG Pebble Hunt on the Deeside Way. 🐷
will be back on Wednesday April 17th with our first Ballater Lego Club of the Summer term.

Lots of laughter at today's Toasty! as we welcomed Mary Haydon from Westhill's Citizens Advice and some younger visitors too.
We said goodbye to Jill who has been Head Soup Chef from the start of Toasty! in January last year. Since November she has also been guiding our keen apprentice Ryah in cooking and kitchen management.
Big thanks also to regular helper Sue. :-)
So chuffed with how this wee project has developed from funding originally from Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action's Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund's 2022/23 round.
Thank you, to anyone and everyone who has taken Toasty! into their hearts.
We'll be back in November, subject to further funding support.

Hands-on creativity in the Ballater Community & Heritage Hub last week with our Mask Making with Stephanie Vandem workshop for 12+.
They'll be back tomorrow to paint them. Can't wait to see the results!
Thanks to Aberdeenshire Youth Rights Committee and Marr Area Partnership for funding this and our recent Cookery classes too.

Lots of fabulous book donations have been made to the Ballater Community & Heritage Hub lately, our lovely market stall is up too so it must be summer nearly...?
We've even managed to alphabetise most of them, making it even easier to find your favourite author or series among the bargains.

Thank you to all our lovely stallholders and to everyone who came to see us. Ballater Playpark Improvements Group were delighted to raise £330 from their bottle and chocolate stall.

Tomorrow sees our last Toasty! until November when we will restart these friendly warm-space sessions.
Alongside the usual tasty soups and abundance of cake, we will also have a visit from the lovely Mary of South West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice who will endeavour to answer any general questions you may have and arrange one-to-one appointments for another day if you need advice on something specific.
All welcome, 1030-1330. FREE (donations welcome).
