The presentation took place this evening in the Adair Arms Hotel. Digital Catapult Innovation Drop In Clinic at Ballymena Business Centre (Galgorm)

The NI team from Digital Catapult are running an Innovation Drop In Clinic for all Ballymena Business Centre members and tenants wanting to explore what business support programmes are available to accelerate your technology adoption and growth plans.

Come along throughout the day for a catch up over coffee and some traybakes!

Funded by Innovate UK, Digital Catapult deliver a range of funded interventions to support start ups, SMEs and industry partners to explore the adoption of technology & to prototype new products and services utilising:
• Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
• Immersive technologies
• Photonics
• Internet of Things
• Future networks such as 5G
• Blockchain
• Quantum
The Innovation Practice team will be on hand to discuss your future plans and how Digital Catapult may be able to assist in bringing your technological visions to life.

There is a current call for applications for Digital Catapult's fully funded Technology Access Programme, providing up to 10 hours of free support from expert Technologists, access to photonics equipment and Northern Ireland's largest 5G test bed facility alongside up to 5 hours industry mentoring from Smart Nano NI consortium companies.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salesperson to join our growing sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, providing exceptional customer service, and building strong relationships with clients. The role will be split between internal and external duties, such as handling customer orders, acting as a main point of contact for key clients, and prospecting for new business.

08:45-16:45 Monday - Thursday

08:45-15:00 Friday

New Retail Ready Maker - Maura Downey

Maura makes beautiful Handmade Bags for all occasions. Learning to make these bags was a learning curve for Maura, while looking after her own children when they were still quite young as she helped out a friend, who had started a small business, making fabric gifts for both children & adults.

After retiring from a varied selection of jobs, which included Hotel Manager & Lecturer, an Athletics & Swimming Coach and a work skills trainer in schools,
she then returned to making bags again.

Maura has added a whole range of other gifts, such as Quilted Tote & Messenger Bags, both are lined and made from Tweed and Patterned Material, Pincushions and Sewing Pouches.

As you can see we did not let the dull, rainy day dampen our spirits as we launched the new schedule for Enterprising Women MEA 2024/25 in Carrickfergus earlier this week.
Enterprising Women MEA is managed by Carrickfergus Enterprise in partnership with Ballymena Business Centre and funded by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.
For those that don't know, Enterprising Women is a dedicated female network in Mid and East Antrim, that supports new and established female entrepreneurs.
Kelli McRoberts lead partner said ' Women often feel quite isolated when they are running a business and we to create a warm and welcoming environment to help members to connect, grow in confidence, develop their networks and collaborate with like-minded women just like them.

We are delighted that Council's continued support allows us to provide such an interesting and diverse range of events. We are also launching a new online platform in Autumn 2024 to allow members to be more visible to each other and their wider markets.

Melanie Christie Boyle from Ballymena Business Centre added 'We have a range of great events coming up including Coffee and Chat events and workshops in the areas of personal development and management skills to help you and your business grow'
