Send your Save the Dates around a year before your wedding day, you’ll likely only receive responses from guests who know they can’t make it. It also makes wedding planning so much easier as you have a more accurate idea on numbers.

Happy Couples 🤍“From our very first phone call I knew that Joanna would be absolutely amazing and exactly who I needed to help pull off my perfect day. Throughout the entire process she went above and beyond to help me with any questions or problems that I came up against, however great or small, and kept things running smoothly. Joanna is exceptionally organised and practical but without being at all bossy or intimidating - I felt completely at ease running through plans with her and discussing various options and never felt swayed away from my vision.

Three days before the wedding day we had a huge problem with our marquee and Joanna (despite being at the hairdressers at the time!!) flew straight over armed with solutions and comforting words, it was exactly what I needed and I am so grateful to her. The advantages of a winter weddingYou will have no expectations for the weather to be hot and sunny, but you can have some glorious dry, crisp sunny days.

When planning a marquee wedding, there are so many things to pull together and my advice is to source as much as possible from your marquee company. If you have hired a wedding planner, they will of course help you with this.You will need to think about furniture including a bar, catering tables, lighting, a generator, mobile loos and chill out furniture, all of which most marquee companies can provide or source for you. Trust me, it makes it all so much easier if it comes from the one supplier, and cuts down on delivery costs too.

I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this idea! 🫶✨ As a wedding planner, I’ve seen first-hand how much more intimate and meaningful ceremonies become when everyone is fully focused on the moment instead of snapping away on their phones.

💍 Focus on the couple: The ceremony is the heart of your wedding day. By asking guests to put their devices aside, the couple gets the undivided attention they deserve.

📸 Leave it to the pros: You've likely hired a talented photographer to capture the day beautifully. Trust them to do their job without guests getting in the way or blocking that perfect shot!

As an Oxfordshire based wedding planner I am rather biased but both the City of Oxford and the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside have some fabulous wedding venues. Here are a few of my favourites.Oxford Botanic Garden - a little oasis in the city of Oxford, the event lawn is the perfect place to host your marquee wedding.

Bodleian Library, Oxford - stunning architecture, steeped in history and room for both ceremony and reception.

Ardington House - simply beautiful house and grounds. The grounds have a permanent marquee for weddings up to 200, a beautiful island for your wedding ceremony and the house is available to rent for the wedding weekend and can sleep up to 25 guests.

When should you book your wedding planner?The answer depends on how much involvement you would like from your planner.

🌸If you want to work through the whole process together, then book as soon as you’ve got engaged!
🌸If you need help in those final months, then booking 9-12 months before your wedding is best.
🌸And if you just need help on the day, booking 3 months in advance should be plenty.

Partial Planning - why it works?⁣The wonderful thing about Partial Planning is that it can start at any stage of the planning process. It leaves you free to cherry pick planning all the fun bits and leave the rest to me.

When I start the Partial Planning process I take over all the wed min and nitty gritty tasks. I will agree with you which elements of the planning that you would like to carry out and then leave the rest to me. I will suggest and help source any remaining suppliers, be the main point of contact and check you have contracts signed and all deposits paid, so that you know that you will not be let down on your wedding day. I am there to get on with all the admin and time consuming bits to make sure that you have the wedding you wish and giving you the freedom to enjoy the lead up to the day and the day itself.

I do love a marquee wedding. It gives a couple a complete blank canvas to plan, personalise and build your wedding day. Many venues have restrictions on numbers, but with marquee weddings they are ideal for the larger wedding. The top locations to have a marquee are:🏠Private home - this is usually the family home of either the bride or groom.
🌾A neighbour or local farmer happy to let you use a field for your marquee.
🌷Large country houses/stately homes with grounds for marquee use.
💒Dry hire venues with plenty of space for a marquee.
It is also well worth researching locations for wedding marquees online.

Congratulations to Jo and Dan who held their fabulous and fun wedding reception and party a year ago today. The weather was gorgeous and friends and family gathered for the party in a marquee in their friend’s garden in the picturesque village of Ticehurst in East Sussex.The atmosphere was buzzing and guests partied away throughout the day and night with two bands - Jukebox Lounge and Lollipop and DJ sets from Running Bull.

Jo and Dan have the enviable job of owning and running @‌angelfish travel, planning and sending clients on holiday to exotic locations in the Indian Ocean, true experts in everything Indian Ocean and beyond.

“Joanna was the on-the-day manager for our wedding and was absolutely wonderful to work with in the lead up and on the day of our wedding. She was able to solve all problems that cropped up in the weeks before the wedding (for example, the lack of drinks storage space for the night before the ceremony). She co-ordinated the suppliers so efficiently that there was nothing for us to worry about, even though managing the Oxford Botanic Garden, not being a “traditional” wedding venue, required a fair amount of organisation! She was in the wedding marquee the night before the wedding and from the early morning the next day, making sure everything runs smoothly.
