I very rarely make up larger bouquets without an order, but putting together some posies just now, this combination was not only calling, but screaming at me!

Locally grown luscious bloom Chrysanths, my own homegrown rich rusty ones, plus hips, a few Dahlias and foliage, this Autumnal mix is available for the special price of £30.

🧡Yes, I want to tempt you! Autumn colours, long lasting varieties, and something for half term, or just for the turn into November!

🌿[email protected] or 07825 630524 if you want to bag it now. Give someone a Friday night surprise!

THANK YOU to all those who have already booked spaces on my festive wreath workshops at Burton Hill 🙌

There are now just 15 spaces left across 4 dates, so if you are thinking about it, don't dally!

If you want to make a group booking for more people than spaces suggest are available, do contact me as there may be a little bit of wiggle room.

I'm going to start an epic Gingerbread making marathon soon to cater for requests by popular demand.... if cake helps make up your mind 😉😋

Really loving a pink/red combo at the moment. Dahlias, Sedum, Snaps, Asters, emboldened by a complementary cast of greens from Weigela, Nicandra and Euclyptus.

Plus - top left and middle left - , Pheasant Berry, or all of the wonderful names highlighted by Wikipedia in the comments! I love local/common/dialect names for plants (like Snaps above!) - if you want an interesting read that takes you on a tour through our cultural, agricultural and horticultural natural history, then you can't go wrong with Flora Britannica by Richard Mabey.

What's your favourite plant name?

I've shared pictures of my cutting garden here before, and I've visited the plots of other local growers I buy from. But where do the majority of the blooms from the world's cut flower trade come from? Worth a read if you're curious. Like most industries, when you do things at scale at a too-good-to-be-true cost, someone somewhere is being exploited....

Women work long and gruelling hours to grow the flowers sold across Europe.

Yesterday hosted an Autumn wreath making workshop, and while I really should have noticed when planning that I'd set the date for the Autumn equinox, I didn't!

Whether it was intuitive or serendipitous it doesn't matter, we had a lovely morning working with seasonal ingredients including conkers, seedheads and summer flowers saved for drying.

The method and materials were different to my festive wreath workshops, and the session was a chance to experiment with textures and be immersed in the process.

The time flew and the finished wreaths were wonderful, so I've decided to do it all over again in October! If you'd like info on dates, please DM me 🌿

While I really don't like thinking about C*******S in September, it is nice to have something to look forward to. I've just booked tickets for a smash hit theatre show family treat in December, and I know that wreath-making is a marker of the start of the festive season for a lot of you, so why not fix that date?

I'm not ready to change my profile picture to a wreath just yet, but if you are a planner, my Burton Dassett workshop dates for the coming winter season are now up on my website.

Let me know any questions, and get that date in the diary with your friends now!

There's no denying that the garden is slowing down as the temperatures drop. I think I actually missed the peak while on holiday 🤦‍♀️!
But it's still a source of enormous satisfaction to be able to put together choice-colour bouquets all from the garden.
This was a thoughtful request for a sad first anniversary, with the purpose of being uplifting rather than sombre, and I don't think there's anything like a daisy-form to raise a smile.

With an abundance of dried materials in my store and the fresh harvests of Autumn, I’ve decided to run an Autumn wreath workshop to dress up your doors until the festive designs are go!

Sunday 22 September 10.30am-12.30pm

Cost £30pp

Venue: Burton Dassett, CV47

Join me at the farm for a fun session making a rustic seasonal wreath. We’ll use Eucalyptus, Hazel, Bracken, Sedum and dried materials with russet tones like Dock, hips and Strawflower to decorate a willow base in a style to reflect you, the maker.

There will of course be coffee and cake, and hopefully a weather-permitting peek at the cutting garden for anyone who’d like to, along with the chance to spend a morning with others who enjoy making.
