(We also have classes on Fridays in Higher Clovelly - see our page for details!)
You can come with or without a partner - social tango is a beautiful way to meet new people and learn an exciting new skill at the same time. (You can of course drag friends or partners along for fun as well!)
Monday nights:
- 6:00pm beginners + fundamental technique
- 6:30pm main class
- 7:30pm practica
Follow our page for updates and details!

Why dance tango?
- Tango can be spectacular - but actually mostly it's about forming a deep unspoken connection with your partner.
- Tango is social – you don’t need a regular partner; you'll dance with many friends and friendly strangers!
- Tango is improvised – every dance a new act of creative expression.
- Tango is musical – experience a new world of music, and experience familiar music in a whole new way with your own body.
- Tango has a rich cultural history – full of classical music, traditions, elegance, and legends…
…But tango is also contemporary and evolving – you can dance to many styles of music, you can mix gender roles, you can explore and invent.
----
Do I need a partner?
No! Social tango is about meeting and dancing with new people. You'll learn how to lead and follow with a wide range of dancers! (Do drag your friends/partners along to make it even more fun if you can 🙂)
----
What do I bring?
Comfortable clothing to move freely in. And if you like – up to you! - why not take the excuse to bring out your best threads for a night of tango glamour!
You'll need shoes you feel steady in – if you don't have dance shoes then go for smooth leather soles and sensible heels.

What level is the class?
We start the night with a short fundamental technique class, which is suitable for absolute beginners. Each week we will work on a different aspect of basic technique, and over a few weeks you will get a good foundation upon which to take our main open level class.
The main class is open-level, which means it's suitable whether it's the first time you're learning a new topic, or whether you want to go deeper. Each week we'll pick a different topic to expand your world of social argentine tango!
----
When is the class?
Monday night:
6:00pm: Beginner-friendly fundamental technique
6:30pm: 1-hour main class
7:30pm: open social practica.
----

We're in Swimbridge Jubilee Hall, in the middle of Swimbridge village EX32 0PQ. Parking on-site.
