St Anne's is set in a green, pedestrianized oasis in the very heart of Barnstaple; a Gothic building in miniature, charming and unassuming, in the middle of the Parish Church cemetery. Anne’s is one example of an extraordinary group of historic buildings concentrated in between Barnstaple’s two main shopping streets. The Plough Arts Centre now hosts a programme of community arts activity; Live mus

ic events, regular arts & crafts workshops, residencies, classes and community projects through out the year. With a capacity of 60 and everything you would expect from a modern venue it offers a unique opportunity to make your event or workshop very special.

Perfumes & Potions

New for 2025, full day workshops!

Join me for a day of scent creation and natural skincare crafting.

Learn about the key benefits of natural ingredients and which ones are most suitable for your skin type, explore how we can use herbs and botanicals in our skincare and be guided through the traditional techniques used to create high quality products that work for you.

The day begins with the power of scent and how perfumers create the perfect blend, exploring the fragrance notes and essential oils to create a signature fragrance for your perfume oil, soap and body butter.

Using the finest quality plant based ingredients, botanicals and your signature scent you will learn the techniques of traditional cold soap making and take home a loaf of soap which will cut into approximately eight bars of loveliness.

In the afternoon we explore how we can use herbs and botanicals in our skincare, and the methods used to extract plant medicine for our products, crafting a skin repair salve and a light and deeply moisturising body butter incorporating your signature scent with a range of luxurious natural butters and oils to keep your skin super soft.

All raw materials, equipment and a workbook of recipes and notes for you to takeaway are supplied.

Feedback from Rich's previous gig:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We hugely enjoyed this group of talented musicians!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A very friendly and informal group. Rich is a great song writer with a strong folky voice and was supported with excellent playing from Ant on bass guitar, Ania on flute and Rebecca on fiddle. It was a really fun evening and worth every penny of the ticket price. Only one disappointment on that bright summer evening, there wasn't a full house. I'm looking forward to the group's next visit to St. Anne's when I'm sure there'll be a full house!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A totally mesmerizing performance from Richard, Ant, Ania and Rebecca, in the beautiful surrounding of St Anne's Chapel. Four extremely talented musicians in their own right, but put them together and their sound is simply breath taking.
Rich's lyrics are evocative of times gone by, of people and of places, and his delivery is always spot on, with Ant, Ania and Rebecca weaving strands of colour and texture into the overall sound. Every song was a delight to listen to.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful, factual, informative and at times funny walking tour. It’s like Susan is telling the stories for the first time. Cannot wait to take part in more of her walks!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent evening. Atmospheric venue. Wonderful welcome. Really wonderful evening.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very interesting and amusing tour. Guide was very knowledgeable about the subject. Will definitely book for other tours.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sue is just fabulous. This is our 3 or 4th tour now - loosing count and Sue never fails to deliver. Thank you, as ever, for a great night.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An absolute delight! Sue was a brilliant guide! Articulate, interesting, funny…we were so impressed with the tour, we booked another one as soon as we got home!
