St Anne's is set in a green, pedestrianized oasis in the very heart of Barnstaple; a Gothic building in miniature, charming and unassuming, in the middle of the Parish Church cemetery. St Anne’s is one example of an extraordinary group of historic buildings concentrated in between Barnstaple’s two main shopping streets. The Plough Arts Centre now hosts a programme of community arts activity; Live

music events, regular arts & crafts workshops, residencies, classes and community projects through out the year. With a capacity of 60 and everything you would expect from a modern venue it offers a unique opportunity to make your event or workshop very special.

🧶Join Penny Rowland Hill of Penny at Penygwyn Designs, for a 'Bags of Fun!' Wet Felting Workshop
🌟Saturday 29th November, 10.30am-1.30pm.

🧶Using wet felting techniques, you will learn the principles of how to create a 3D form in felt, and be able to create a small bag or pouch of your own.
🧶Wet-felting involves the creation of a fabric using the combination of wool fibres, soap, water and friction – AKA elbow grease!!
🌟All equipment and materials provided.
🌟Suitable for adults and older children 14+. Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

🎛 Bellprover – Live at Pattern Recognition
This Saturday | ThePlough@StAnne’s, Barnstaple

Today we’re spotlighting Bellprover, the analogue–spoken word project of Douglas E Powell. Expect kosmische loops, drifting synth patterns and surreal narrative fragments woven into something atmospheric and slightly otherworldly.

Described by Electronic Sound as “a blissed-out William Blake in a lysergic parish garden,” Bellprover brings a unique blend of texture, tone and storytelling that fits perfectly within the chapel setting at St Anne’s.

🎼Formed in 1987, Nex’T’Nothin have been writing and performing original songs for over 37 years.
🎼Writing in a mixture of styles and delivering two-part harmonies, the multi-instrumentalist David Shepherd, and David Snell were joined in 2023 by Chris Lansdell-Snell adding percussion and her vocals to the mix so that two part has become three part harmonies.
🎼Using Guitar, Harmonica, Bass, Whistles, Mandola and Keyboards ,as well as the recently added percussion, NTN play acoustic and electric material from a wide range of influences.

🎛 Artist Feature: Keith Seatman | Pattern Recognition – Sat 22 November 🎛

As we get closer to next weekend, we’re spotlighting the artists joining us for a night of experimental electronics, drone, spoken word and improvised sound.

Keith Seatman brings his distinctive mix of retro-futurist electronics, radiophonic textures and playful sonic detail. With releases on Castles in Space and Belbury Music, his work has been heard on BBC 6 Music and Radio 3, and he’s known for sets that shift between the eerie, the melodic and the beautifully strange.

✨️ Things are starting to feel festive! ✨️ We are really excited to be playing our Christmas Special show at the beautiful St Anne's Arts & Community Centre Church in Barnstaple, this year we are playing a double header as last year sold out ⭐️

Saturday is a standing gig and Sunday a seated so choose your vibe, either way this venue is particularly special to us, amazing acoustics and super cosy vibe 💛
