Feeling Lucky at the Old Harbour Today I had the most magical experience over the Old Harbour today—standing there as a flock of oystercatchers chirped down from the sky! It felt like such a rare and special moment to witness these beautiful birds so close. For those who don’t know, spotting oystercatchers around the Vale of Glamorgan, especially near Barry Island, is quite a treat. These striking black-and-white waders with bright orange beaks are more commonly found on rocky coasts. While they can occasionally pass through this area during migration, seeing a flock together like this is truly uncommon. It just reminded me how lucky we are to live surrounded by such nature!
