Thanks to Brian Macleod and Janet Maciver for organising the first Barvas & Brue community bonfire since 2019.

What a turn out and a great bonfire with some superb fireworks.

Massive thanks to everyone who helped out with food and donating fireworks.

Looking forward to next year and another bigger and better display.

In Tesco selling tickets for our Westside Christmas Raffle today. Tickets are £1, and there is a great variety of prizes to be won.

Monies raised will be helping ourselves, Westside Football Club and Sgoil an Taobh Siar Parent Council

A date for your diaries, this year our Xmas craft fayre will be on the 7th December.

We have some amazing stalls this year including some that have not been with us before, below is some of the local businesses that will be joining us on the day.

Due to the weather forecast for this evening, the kids will be out trick or treating 👻 🎃 from 6.30pm on Fridays 1st November

Just to let everyone in the lower Barvas, Heatherhill and Loch Street area that there will be a number of kids out trick or treating on Thursday evening, 31st October from 6.30pm.

Community Bonfire and fireworks is also being organised this year, so any donations towards fireworks would be greatly appreciated.

Please drive carefully in and around Barvas.

If you would rather that the kids didn’t come and see you please let Louis know on 840201 or 07870362449

It was Thanks to the funding from the CLLD fund that allowed us to hold the Senior citizens Dinner at the big inning of this year.

I think we can safely say that everyone that attended had a great time. And we will hopefully find some funding to do it all again.

Last year’s Small Grant Scheme enabled numerous community groups to host events that brought people together to socialise in a warm, friendly environment, often also providing a nutritious meal.
The committees of Barvas and Brue Community Centre and the Westside Youth Club both secured funding for events, ensuring there truly was a provision for young and old.

Fancy learning how to paint miniatures? Come along to the community centre from 7pm tomorrow evening. Be great to see as many as possible there.

One for the Warhammer fans, or those who are looking to take on a new hobby over the winter months,.

Learn to paint Warhammer event in the Barvas and Brue Community Centre on the 17th November at 7pm.

This is a free to attend event, be great to see a good number attend. And if it’s well attended we will consider holding more events like this in the future.
